Global Climate Change - Page 5 Empty Re: Global Climate Change

Post by Sin Sun Feb 21, 2010 5:55 pm

ok im going to summarize this. If we wont get killed by serious of cataclysms in 2012 there will b an asteroid hitting earth somewhere around 2029 or 2036 which is a fact its just gonna come and finish us off. if 2012 wont do much damage. I mean like Mayan Calendar didnt said shit about the end of the world either way.

but the sun has an 11 year cycle and its more active. the only thing that will affect us is probably loss of communication , electricity , internet if u ask me the satelites will get wiped out in 2012 yay no tv!
Theres not much ppl that realize how dependent we are as humanity on technology these years.

If its gonna happen its gonna happen and the climate is changing. You have to be blind to not notice that.

I Think its a bit too late to make it better or stop it from happening
Cuz most ppl dont give a damn. Global Climate Change - Page 5 354455

We can't even predict the weather more then 7 days into the future, and even then there are many times when what we predict doesn't happen. Do you really think we can accurately predict the end of the planet?

Right, because in the last one hundred years there have just been so many planets dying that we can witness first hand.... And as I stated before, period of heating up and cooling down are normal for the planet, it's like a pendulum, you swing far one way, you'll swing the same the other and the arcs will get gradually bigger. This isn't something you can stop, and given that I'm currently buried in 3 feet of snow in a state that averages 12 inches a YEAR, I don't think it's gonna kill us any time soon either.

also aard, you must be one hell of a super genius because all those scientists say there is climate change, and yet you blatantly deny in spite of the glaring facts and flaws with you arguments against it, just like the part with evolution, but lets not go back into that, i.e evolution.

So I'd like to see your hard studied data and facts.

I don't deny it, I deny that it's as much of a problem as people make it out to be, or did you miss the entire paragraph on heating and cooling. As for Evolution, well I didn't know willing to accept that we don't know everything was pompous, I'll keep that in mind now.

Go look in a Farm's Almanac. You'll find plenty of examples of heating and cooling periods. This is a hotter heating period, so it'll have a colder cooling period. Or would you like to argue with history?

this stuff happens all over hundreds of years, and the mean global temperature is rising, while in some areas it is dropping, but the trend is rising.

not just by years, we are talking in a more cosmic sense, rather than by our own perception.

Good, I hate dogs. Cat for me.

It still doesn't change that we as a civilization suck at predicting anything, we can't predict weather on our own planet with certainty, with the vast amount of Space there is there are innumerable unforeseen factors that can come into play, and as we see with our own environment, often do come into play.

Einstein predicted something now called, Einstein's Rings.

If one scientist can do that, then 1000 scientists that get the same data should be even better.

besides how can you doubt the greenhouse effect, it's so obvious (shown on page before) can you see what it is saying?

What it claims would be obvious, if I'd actually seen it. I haven't, been looking for these negative changes, haven't seen them myself.

Einstein predicted many things, I've seen scientists fail at doing the same even when cooperating together. Quantity does not equal quality, and only one person getting things right over centuries is actually kinda pathetic for a culture.

but when 1000 scientists agree that their data supports global climate change, what then, because that is what is happening.

Also, I'm not looking at the negative side, i'm looking at the facts.

I'm looking for a change and seeing nothing. Why should I believe someone when they say there's change I can't see?

I'm not debating the climate changes, as I said it's always changing, it just isn't going to cause all the negative problems people claim.

Well thats a good point, do we try to protect ourselves against inevitability or do we wallow in defeat?

I choose to fight, I don't want to give up.

Its like America's debt, we have to pay it, we go on ignoring it, and now its gotten to a point where we have massive debt, and in order to alleviate it, we must spend our way out, Keynesian multiplier, and then go through counter-cyclical fiscal years, but i'm getting off track here, XD

I choose logic. Fight if you can win, if you can't, then spend your time enjoying what you've got rather then wasting it in an ultimately futile effort.

I choose logic too, Fight because there is hope.

I'll compare this to starwars, A New Hope.

but when we look at the end of times, and if in the end we are all dead, then why fight anything, because, ultimately, it is a futile effort by that method of logic.

Because you can win. There's an entropy to everything, but when it gets to a certain point it's futile. You fight a disease when young because you can still lead a good life after it, older people don't worry about it because when you hit 70-80 the life quality after defeating the disease would be negligible, and might only prolong suffering.
