I got another problem xd, we have to sing this song at school when we graduate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaudeamus_igitur , I can sing it ok (not perfectly, but ok) but when I reach the ''humus'' part, the tone is too high for me =(, do you know about an exercise/practice for that =S

Go for the lower range, so you'll sign a little lower than the music demands for the moment to give it some base so that when you go high it's right at the top of your range.... Had to sing for music for years in High School, that's why I'm chiming in.

To understand higher notes and how to hit them, you have to understand the sinuses. Your sinus cavities are holes and as a result can resonate sound and help you hit those high notes however, you need to open them up so you can do that effectively. Lifting your eyebrows and your noise helps a lot. It opens up those sinuses and relaxes them so it's easier to do. Also, breathing from the diaphragm is good for breath control and will help with higher notes, too. I'm chiming in because my Mother has been a professional vocal coach for 20+ years and votes for the Grammy's (legit because I've watched her do it.).

What Ara said, really. Diafragm for breathing, noise n eyebrows for notes. Also, dont push your voice too much. If you cant get to the high notes, dont try to force them. You dont wanna fuck up the rest of your singing because of it.

then use technology. microphone volume is adjustable, even live. that is, if you have someone who knows what theyre doing at the sound table.

You do need to practice with them though, if they aren't used to the grade at which it lowers they might jump you too high to early. Speaking as someone who's accidentally done that to someone.
