capitalism, however you define it, has always been, and probably, for now, will continue to be the superior economic system in teh world.

but now businesses have been given permission, and they have the balls to follow up on that, we'll a big increase, probably, and besides, they don't vote, people do.

Democracy won't end though; why would it? Hundreds of years of success and more to come... But it's almost impossible for a civilization to last forever: the Roman empire for example was probably one of the most successful to ever exist... where is it now? In history.

Why would it end? Because now with corporations having the ability to fund anyone without a cap they can essentially buy elected positions without any middle men.

Well the unions can contribute to political campaigns, as can a 501c3, the aarp, naacp these corporations represent people just as corporations represent their people. their people just expect them to earn a profit. The supreame court has already ruled that $=free speach and limiting the amount of money a person can contribute is stifling thier free speach. McCain-Feingold was contrary to the constitution and put alot of power squarely in the hands of the networks and silenced or limited the speach of you and i.

I believe that Union/corporation/business/ should have a cap on what they spend, because, if a business represents a the CEOs, then who represents their workers and the individuality of people

bah, when oil finishes america will either try and invade Saudi Arabia or get on its knees and beg. Atm its trying to make sure the leadership is pro american, but the afghan and iraq wars def don't help the case. Oh yeah, if or when this goes down, its the middle east baby!!! So basically its been ruled that money is free speech and if u don have money ur not entitled to it. Sorry, that just a piece of shit

who is to say that the corps do not represent their employees? if it affects the corp it affects those that work for them. a company does not hire or fire based on what their perceived moral or ethical duties are to ther employees. They hire and fire based on profits and performance. having run a small business i know that letting someone go is not easy. it is worse when you know they have a kid on the way or realy need the insurance or what ever. I had a responsibility to not only myself and my family but the other techs that i was trying to keep busy.

Ilmare you misunderstand the system as an outsider that has never taken part in an American election i find your ignorance... disheartening. the limited amount of money the people have is off set when those people pool their money and form lobbying groups like the NAACP, NRA or AARP. alone i have little voice so i have to find a way to amplify so i join the NRA, I join those lobbying groups that espouse the messages that i want heard. these same groups that you all see as evil are the groups that give me a voice. the same groups that are supposed to give the elderly a voice, those people of color their voice. this is the way it is now and when an challenge to my free speech is made it is the duty of the SCOTUS to strike it down and protect my rights of free speech.

i do not believe Unions, have the best interests of their members in mind. they should be interested in keeping the business running AND getting a fair deal for thier employees and many times they do not. look at the big three auto makers. the UNIONS are running those businesses in the ground because of the exorbitant (sp?) demands that have been made. the US products a more expensive not because the product is of higher quality but because the overhead is higher. Unions had a purpose when they were conceived but, i am afraid that, for the most part, they have served their purpose.
