Well it was the regular version. I figured the extended were too long for her first go around. Next time we will watch the extended.

Exactly! First I saw the whole triology not extended, and then I watched it extended and started to slightly dislike the regular version.. they've cut out so much!


But I'll never forgive LOTR for not including Tom Bombadill ... Curse you ..

That guy was a freak show. I remember reading about him in the books and was like "wtf?" the entire time.

He wasn't that big of a part of the story to put in the movie. Yeah, it would have been cool to see but he would have had maybe 5 minutes of screen time. Not worth it.

I dunno i think it would have added some depth to the story and added about 5 minutes. could have put him just in the extended versions...

Now that I agree with. They should have put him in the extended but in the regular, it would have been pointless. He really didn't add too much to the story besides showing that he wasn't affected by the Ring at all. Yeah, he saved the Hobbits from the Wights but who cares? It was a great book element, not a movie element.

i agree after reading a book and a half now...i wish tom had been in the extended version but oh well still well done

both of the speeches given to the troops in R.O.T.K. Theoden's and Aragorn's. Because, quite frankly, they were both quite epic.

Course it does. The dramatic music, all the people moving around, expressions to evaluate and discern, swords everywhere, it's all in your head.
