However, I do agree it could be done in the first week or so cuz the chances of development there are something like 50/50 or less. After that, its wrong.

In the greater scheme, the only thing that i could relate that to in Abortion would be a deity.

also, feti can't think or feel.

Kill a zombie.

perform an abortion.

Neither can think or feel.

More importantly, it is about feminine equality and individual rights.

Do you support abortion in the case of rape?

So a young lady goes on with her life, gets raped, and she has to be stuck with a child she never planned, and was forced upon, having to go thru pregnancy and labor? I can tell you like people.

NO U Razz

i'm trying to say that its like killing a zombie because it doesn't have feelings or emotions. It is just something that is, for sake of clarity, that is alive, but does not think or feel.

My mom always said that abortion wouldn't be the right choice for her, but she doesn't want anyone else to have the choice taken away if it was the right choice for them. And don't think that people just throw the babies out the door. We are hardwired to care for them, so it is always a difficult choice for women.

No, I wasn't being serious. Let's let people who hold people up in a street with a gun shoot people, as long as it doesn't affect you? That's not just a little selfish?

Neural pathways don't finish forming in the Fetus till 24 weeks. And feeling pain is considered an afterthought. As such, till 24 weeks you cannot make it feel pain through this. I'm pretty sure they are still working on when it starts to think.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/10403496.stm

So.... any abortions before the 24 weeks have no chance of making the fetus feel pain.

Also.... I can't believe I'm about to say this.... Nihil was right.

So if pain is the only issue, then how do you feel about partial-birth abortion?
And to the Nihil part:

pain is not the issue. Let us list the issues that are concerning most ppl.

1. Is it life or not at that stage? That is undecidable and science will never give a set answer to that. THe reason is that biology is a process and there is no set 'point' were anything happens. That phase is up to the individual beliefs of the public.

2. Should a potential child be killed in order to atone for the mistakes of the mother? I believe not since most of the cases are not 'rape', going to a bar with ur bf and getting drunk then jizzed up is not rape, just ur stupidity. If we keep trying to get rid of consequences then we will always have the same problems. Generally, around the 3-4 week mark I think, the fetus is almost assured to become a child. Before that there are more than 50% chance that it will not even go through, naturally. I think that is the most reasonable place to draw the line.

3. Should a child be brought into a world we know he will suffer in?

Why should he suffer? If unable to care for him just go and give him for adoption. Who are we to decide whether he wants to live or not, or that he is bound to suffer? I think the society at large needs to start thinking more about the causes for so much teen pregnancy and abortions.

In the case of actual rape though, I certainly believe the woman should have the right to get rid of it.

This decision has to be moral based and not too science based since basically, science will not give you the answers. The reason ppl love factual debates because it makes it look like their side has undeniable proof. Problem is, that just makes a useless debate since there's obviously a few facts that can't be argued with. Making facts where there are none just make a debate worthless.
