no, you're not, you are saying they should have done something, which you said that they didn't, this is classic laissez-faire attitude, what a liberal policy would have done was intervene, but even then, there was nothing that could be done, as i said before, it was a socioeconomic problem, not simply an economic one.

actually, I'd probably have to say that detroit would be in a worse place if they didn't have help like they have, but honestly, its not enough, but that won't change much, its a socioeconomic problem.

The government there needs to restore its tax revenues by driving up corporate tax revenues, but lower personal tax revenues in proportion to increase the number of people, or able bodied workers, living there. Then, they would need a small scale stimulus to avoid inflation, but since it is in a depression, it wouldn't hurt, Keynesian economics, and provide business tax incentives for hiring workers.
