i hope Nihil sees this and understands how stupid people are in America, and how its not all the governments fault. Detroir is the pure example of when you give people freedom from the limit rules.

Good documentary, taught me something I didn't know. And reenforces my belief that we need to get rid of BOTH parties and completely re-found the country.

From Wikipedia
Labor strife climaxed in the 1930s when the United Auto Workers became involved in bitter disputes with Detroit's auto manufacturers. The labor activism of those years brought notoriety to union leaders such as Jimmy Hoffa and Walter Reuther. The 1940s saw the construction of the world's first urban depressed freeway, the Davison[24] and the industrial growth during World War II that led to Detroit's nickname as the Arsenal of Democracy.[25]
Industry spurred growth during the first half of the twentieth century as the city drew tens of thousands of new residents, particularly workers from the Southern United States, to become the nation's fourth largest. At the same time, tens of thousands of European immigrants poured into the city. Social tensions rose with the rapid pace of growth. The color blind promotion policies of the auto plants resulted in racial tension that erupted into a full-scale riot in 1943.[26]
Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument of the Civil War with the old Detroit City Hall.
Consolidation during the 1950s, especially in the automobile sector, increased competition for jobs. An extensive freeway system constructed in the 1950s and 1960s had facilitated commuting. The Twelfth Street riot in 1967, as well as court-ordered busing accelerated white flight from the city. Commensurate with the shift of population and jobs to its suburbs, the city's tax base eroded. In the years following, Detroit's population fell from a peak of roughly 1.8 million in 1950 to about half that number today.[18]
The gasoline crises of 1973 and 1979 impacted the U.S. auto industry as small cars from foreign makers made inroads. Heroin and crack cocaine use afflicted the city with the influence of Butch Jones, Maserati Rick, and the Chambers Brothers. Renaissance has been a perennial buzzword among city leaders, reinforced by the construction of the Renaissance Center in the late 1970s. This complex of skyscrapers, designed as a city within a city, slowed but was unable to reverse the trend of businesses leaving Downtown Detroit until the 1990s.[18]

Facts hurt, who was there during their prime? Dems, so you see, it isn't just "evil liberal policy" it was a combination of circumstances.
also, I didn't get it from a biased source like this vid is
In retortion, I put up this vid
it basically sums up what i call liberalism in a nutshell
sorry for the length though

Hmm, so it's the Conservative's fault they've been perpetually getting worse for the last 50 years even though they can't influence the city in any way shape or form? Hmm...

Re: this rly shocking me!
I didn't say that, I said that it is not a result of "evil liberal" policies.
there were too many other socioeconomic factors happening for any conservative or liberal activist to change anything except by taking complete control over the car industry, and such, and therefore turning it into a command economy.

Re: this rly shocking me!
Uh-uh, my turn. I've seen you argue this, you claim everything that's bad during a Conservative administration is because of their policies, and everything good that happens is because of a deep down Liberal influence. Vice versa for a Liberal administration. You say that Liberal policy had nothing to do with the state of Detroit, then Bush's administration had nothing to do with the state of the economy.

Re: this rly shocking me!
Ah but your lovely Liberal policies should fix that shouldn't they? I mean they haven't fixed the country, or the war, or really anything at all, but they're going to right? I mean they've had complete Liberal control in detroit for half a century, but oh that's not long enough, just give them more time, another 50, 100 years and Detroit will be right back thanks to Liberal policies...

No, because it is not a national government, it can't create demand the way the government can with fiscal policy.
It was caused, as evidenced, first by deterioration in the tax base by the flight of caucasians due to racial tensions and then, as the city began to recover, the Oil crisis of the 1970s hit them as the oil Cartel, OPEC, used its monopoly to play with the prices and to attack Israel.

Facts.
Also, i in no way said that liberal policies would fix this or have caused this.
I simply pointed out the facts that the rightwing pundit here is wrong, that liberal policies were not the problem
I also don't think that liberal policies in only detroit will fix this, there will need to be more demand for cars again to fix this problem.
