... i live(d) (moved from) in Detroit... its not that bad, if you live there, you know where to go, you know where not to go. I recently moved to the outskirts of Detroit, but yea, ive gone to schools where kids go to shoot other kids, not to learn, and alot of what he said was bull, the riots part id say is close, and i say hes exaggerating beyond reason, like i want to punch that guy in the face till i cant feel my hand and its covered in blood. that just ticked me off, i dont think he should say that, id like to have him live there for a few years then say that interview again, i can guarrente he would be shot. What i see in that clip, is the he went to 2 or 3 burnt out apartment buildings... and then is saying GUESS WHAT, THIS IS DETROIT and GUESS WHAT, ALL OF DETROIT IS LIKE THIS. this seriously set me off, like im not happy, that guy is a hyprocrit, when he says murder rate is really high, ITS NOT THE HIGHEST RETARD, and guess what, ALOT OF OTHER MAJOR CITIES HAVE BURNT OUT BUILDINGs, and then he goes to a burnt out building and bashes librals, detriot was amazing before the riots, then after them, the good and smart moved out as fast as they could, to areas like royal oak, clawson, rochester, hazel park, warren, ectera. counties and cities bordering detroit, i just hate how he said, this place sucks, yes detriot is bad, but id die for it. and he exagerated everything he said, he seriously went the slums, (lucky he diddnt get shot for what he was saying) and started preaching (hint: dont do that) i seriously hate that guy, and im willing to bet he planted those syrigens, nobodys that stupid.

When he said, "in a nutshell, DETROIT SUCKS" that was a slap in the face.

I've been in Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, all over them all, and I can quite honestly say I have seen NO buildings in such a bad state. It may have been exaggerated, but I doubt it was that much. He's not lying about the murder rate, it really is 5 times the national average.

aard, its like NYC, you know where to go and where not to go, ik that i live on 14 mile, i know im fine as long as i stay past 8 mile, the second i cross 8 mile, then i gotta start watching where i go. and aard, detroit is bad, but its not fallout three, like seriously, it has slums, but its not one giant slumyard, he just filmed the one or two worst areas he could find, planted his own stachesm and another thing, downtown detroit is not that bad, its actually good, there are alot of good suberbs in detroit, there are alot of bad suberbs, but it just was a slap in the face when he said detroit sucks, cause i could easily go to NYC or any other major cities and find a burnt out building.

He's saying it's the combination of things that makes it the worst city in the country. A mixture of low graduation rate, poor economy, and high murder rates that makes it bad. Other cities may be higher in certain areas, but averaged out Detroit is the worst overall. I know he exaggerates, but in the media you have to exaggerate, if you don't, no one understands how bad it is because people plan for exaggeration.

He probably did plant the items, but then again, how else do you drive home to a viewer that drug making happens in a place other then "finding" evidence. And I can't disagree with his statement, if Detroit didn't "suck" then why do so many people move away from it?

people moved away, because the auto industry, the riots. people were scared, thats what started the initial wave of moving away, then the black folk moved in, it became a dumpier city(this was back when everybody was racist) and it became way less prestige, then the auto industry, you move to where you can find work, and if the companies that kept detroit alive were failing, wouldnt you move to find work?

Yes, but it also makes it a less appealing city. You'll find that economically, motive doesn't matter, just what happens.

you do know that suburbs =/= Detroit right? NYC has suburbs too, but its not NYC per se. suburbs is the word arranged for the nicely, high class neighborhoods of a certain area, where crime rate is unexistent. the problem goes when you go in deep, where the actual city is. and i dont know if you know this, but with that new Mayor, NYC has REALLY gotten lower in crime. i mean, its actually decent to walk at night. Detroit thou...well, Detroit is Detroit. it needs fixing, more then anywhere else i think.

I agree that money will change hands in pattern because of what is acted, regardless of the motive behind it, but the actions, or from your arguments, the ability to act and choosing not to do so, are still the fault of the administration.
