No, just no. I don't not want a Twilight Spider-man. Bring back Toby Macguire, he had the right geeky, bumbling oaf personality to do Spider-man right. And there's really no where to go, Venom is Spider-man's toughest enemy, any other villains is just going to look half-assed. The only villains they could go with to make it decent would be a cross-over with Dare Devil and bring the Kingpin in, or throw Carnage in as Venom's evil spawn.

Old news is old. If you really wanna read some fun stuff, ive been keeping up with the shenanigans going on with the Spiderman Broadway play. xD its fucking hilarious, except for the injured actors....

no. those other spiderman movies were just retarded beyond all belief! so corney and made spiderman seem stupid! and i HIGHLY doubt its gonna the twighlight of comics for the comic fan cuz its gonna be more epic and way less corney hopefully. god i hated those stupid cheezy older movies >.<

did read comics. read comics of spider man from really really young, unless you mean the comics written for this generation, you know, the Ultimate universe(e.g. american twilight teenager version). As it is, Spiderman was, is and always will be a light headed story narrative, with a pinch of drama just where it needs it. Spiderman is a smart, light headed guy, who shoots out corny jokes and has a juvenile attitude where it needs it, and a mature one where it needs it too. It is not a completely introspective and deep thing. I think the corniness you see in the movies is that you wanted them to be like a passing by of spiderman, like they were just another comic strip, or maybe you wanted sth that didnt seem like a conflicting young man, who has a love conflict and a self imposed guilt conflict, all while flying around town in a corny suit. but they are movies, wich means they needed to put the essence of spiderman into those 2 hours, wich meant going thru his dramatic creation, his intense relation with mary jane, and his crazy and corky gimmicks as he fights bad guys. you dont like the movies, fine, but they were fine pieces of cinema that stayed true to the fans and comics, and i will present to you 5 spider man nerds on the interwebs anytime who will tell you it was so.

This new mockery of a movie is an attempt to call into your crowd, and into the twilight and gritty crowd who want edgy and 'adult' movies. I honest to god have no idea where they get the demographics for these things.

i'm with dray on this one.... those movies were amazing and toby McGuire was perfect for that role... i have no interest in watching this movie... as soon as i heard it was a different spiderman i was turned off

i dont mind reboots, i just dont find THIS franchise needed a reboot right now, and in the way they seem to want to make it.

no. if you read the comics, the jokes spiderman would crack were actually funny. in the older movies they were just stupid. the action was corney. i could care less how actiony the movie would be or w/e. it was so stupid how they did the hob goblin the third one. and wtf was up with him a hobgoblin teaming, i can guarantee you that, that never happened in the comics. adn your saying this new one is gonna be all twighlighty or w/e when the third one was so stupid at the end. hobgoblin never turned good!

At the time the movies were made there were two running Spider-man series: The Amazing Spiderman & Ultimate Spiderman, the Amazing Spiderman later morphed into the Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman series(short-lived) maybe a month before the third movie was released. The movies focused on the light hearted corny nature of Spiderman only throwing in drama when comedy was inappropriate. As such the movies stayed true to the reigning comic of the time. The Ultimate Spiderman was an attempt to make a teenage drama version or Spider-man placed in the new millennium, THIS version was edgy and overly dramatic, iow Emo. The Ultimate version didn't have a strong fan base so the director decided the lighthearted traditional version would be better for fans, and he was right, it got three movies(although I was a bit disappointed with the third, didn't live up to the other two).

And from 2009 on is just an abomination unleashed by Disney that they don't know what to do with. They made it much too edgy and violent while at the same time pointless inane characters and dialog in. Add to this that they're trying to bring back every single two-bit villain and improvising new "anti-heroes" and you have something so horrendous it's just painful to watch. The artwork has even suffered to a huge degree, the last issue I picked up looked like it was drawn by a 13 year old and the story wasn't any more advanced that the drawing.

My suggestion if you're looking for a more edgy version Soran, look into the Noir series. And yes Soran, the Hobgoblin has teamed up with Spiderman before, you just haven't read enough of the series to find that out.

Basically these are re-imagined beginnings of all the marvel superheroes. It takes place in the Great Depression and the Spider-man is more violent. He works more like an old detective with superpowers.

it was for sure. the futuristic was prolly the second best but i was kinda lame also.

Also, if you didnt notice, even the emo peter parker in the third movie was really corny, unless youre a bit blind, you notice they make fun of this darker peter in the movie. the jokes were funny in te comics? not really, they were gigglish sometimes, and harmless, but i wouldnt find it hilarious, it sounded a lot like a morning kids show sometimes, and that was fine.
