Beating up third world countries isnt really kicking ass...thats like punching a baby and gloating about it.

AND ironically, you got beaten up by a third world country once.

Right now China is the greatest military power on the planet, they have more people and more equipment then the U.S. does. China is also the greatest education center in the world at the moment with Chinese students coming in first in the fields of Science, Math, and Language. So apparently America can't kick everyone's ass.....

Points at the fact that the A-bomb is the only reason we won, not actual military might. In fact, pre A-bomb it was actually a very bleak picture with Japan having a virtual guarantee of winning. If we were to go to war against Russia, North Korea, China, or the U.K. right now we would be unlikely to win. China has more power, North Korea is just crazy enough to use Nukes, Russia spans too large an area to ever effectively cover with the inefficient use of military forces we have at this moment, and the Royal Navy is far larger then our own at the moment.

I would have to disagree. By the time we dropped the bomb Germany was done. What we did with the bomb is convince the emperor that a longer campaign would not help him and only hurt his people. the assault on Japan was not only feasible but planned. With the virtual destruction of Japan's navy during the 'island hopping' campaign orchestrated by MacArthur, the defeat of Japan was assured. It was just a matter of time.

Dropping the bomb had the effect of saving American lives from what would have been a very bloody campaign to take their mainland. and yes that act was targeted to save American Lives.

So the Americans had nothing to do with that what so ever? Seems to me Monty was on the defensive till the allies launched Operation torch where the US added the 1st and 2nd Armored, 1st, 3rd, 34th and 9th Infantry divisions and the 509th Parachute regiment to their numbers a bit over 75k troops. Once the US got there the allies had the numbers and air power to begin pushing the Jerrys back.

Monty and Rommel were playing grab ass chasing each other back and forth across the continent up to the point that Rommel had pushed Monty all the way back into Egypt. During that time a lot of ground was gained and lost as well as men and machines killed and captured from both sides.

Operation Torch was successful and the allies were able to push Rommel off the continent in the spring of ‘43

Take a look at this if you doubt me.

Hey man, you like to say the Americans conquered Europe, when in truth it was a mix of forces, but the american force was te main drive. I can conceed that, i am simply applying it to Africa, where the British held the main force battle.

NO NO... Americans didn't conquer Europe, we LIBERATED Europe from Nazi aggression.

I also said ALLIED forces. I did single out American contributions because, in operation Torch, the US were the bulk of the forces. to that point the Brits were on their own and did well in spurts. Monty was only able to break out of El Almien in Egypt because he had a 11/1 advantage over German tanks. In a war of attrition it is better to have more forces than your opponent.
