Mapping help plz? :)

Hey so as some of u might hav heard - i will b attempting to create a Hogwarts map 4 JA
The only problem with this is, idk how to start lol i know how to make boxes and stuff and rooms (i think )
but i need some help with textures and stuff if anyone can do that 4 me? thanks

I am a mapper myself. Bulldog is leet though.

Personal opinion:

Don't rush into making a Howarts map just yet, it's a great idea but when you're new it'll probably be a disaster..

I'd reccomend scouting tutorials and stuff so you can master making easy stuff before jumping onto them big stuff. You could always start with picking rooms of Hogwarts and map'em? Like Snapes office or the Dining room or something. Just a though.

I agree with mah bro Joey.
It will be a surviving disaster. We will go thru walls and etc. Start with small maps first. Go with a square first. Learn to place objects and such 1st.
Then go with creating rooms ,leet images and such. Good luck ,and remember. GOOGLE HAS WALKTHROUGHZ

I lol'd ,but still. Its gonna be a pain in the ass to do the FULL great hall. With all the lights and etc.

im sure it would... what should he start with then? like a closet full of boxes?

Im not a mapper myself, but if you want to make Hogwarts as a start you should make the more "simple" places first, like lets say the Transfiguration Courtyard then continue with the harder places and when you know all about mapping you can make the most detailed places like the Common rooms etc.

yah i thought of creating small Duel/FFA maps to start with - like the Chamber of Secrets, Great Hall, Hufflepuff Commonroom mayb - then i would put them togethr and make an ULTIMATE HOGWARTS!! WOOT lol it would b sooo cool if i can even start to map its tougher than i thought!!

oh and btw Thing i have Harry Potter 5 and 6 games and im makin a plan of what i want to include and evrythn but startn a map is the hard part ughhh

Start off with basics man, the Basics! Shortcuts on keyboard and finding the stuff around the program is the most important stuff (now).

yes i do mostly know wat i want - i want to like add ALL of the things from the movies and stuff like the Third Floor Corridor and the Chamber of Secrets, the Hedge Maze, even the commonrooms 4 the other houses !! GO HUFFLEPUFF!! haha

I don;t actually think your computer could handle compiling all of that...

Well.. if he gets good at it he can make like 3-4 maps total for the full island. (including Quidditch field and etc + Sleeping Forest [or whatever it was called])

Forbidden forest, I think. Also good luck in making everything... I guess it won't be easy... But Hogwarts map is going to be super awesome, I've always wanted to play it.
