Aardvark wrote:Controlling them is a good idea. Not controlling them would lead to far more violence. Restricting the use of a dangerous object is the most effective way of managing it at all. No laws means it runs rampant, making it entirely illegal opens the way for gang rule. Restricting it provides a legal means to obtain the object that MOST of the population will follow rather then risking their freedom by doing it the illegal way.
By putting gun control into action you would be disarming the public and putting innocent people at risk. The second amendment states we have the right to bear arms and it should stay that way. When things become illegal, a black market forms for those things almost immediately. All the law abiding citizens that currently have guns for the purpose of defence will have to give theirs up and be weaponless. However, the criminals that ALREADY commit crimes with guns will STILL have the guns, they are criminals, if they need to turn to the black market to buy guns they will. That being said, when a criminal breaks into your house with an illegal gun purchased off of the black market and intends to harm your family you are defenseless without a gun because you are a law abiding citizen and do not have a gun due to it's illegality.
Bottom line: Outlawing guns will not take guns out of the hands of criminals, it will only take them out of the hands of law abiding citizens leaving them at great risk without mechanisms of defense against criminals that purchase them off the black market. Short version, gun control will put innocent people at risk.

Re: Gun control
I should really shut off the people against gun control by guiding them to the title: gun CONTROL. not gun REMOVAL. gun CONTROL. That means, know who has the guns, where the guns are, and if someone wants a gun, they better be eligible to use it.

Re: Gun control
We had free guns laws, it was called the Wild West. Murder rates were sky high mostly due to alcohol, and people were just as well shot down defending whatever it was they were armed to defend.
I am much more in favor of development of non lethal devices citizens can employ to effectively take down even a firearm armed assailant. Stun and Taser guns are limited in range and accuracy. They need to develop something with more effectiveness. Without lethality the device can be issued to just about anyone you would give a normal gun to.

That sounds good Champ, i hadnt thought about that. Yes, Incapacitating weapons do fine job, but they need to come up with sth more efficient, specially when it comes to multiple assailants..Like a....auto....taser gun. Jizz....

I would be fully in favor of seeing a fully automatic small projectile shooter that carries a shock or some sort of neuro toxin that will render some incapacitated. There needs to be laws of course, on when and how to use them as well as training. I am also in favor of forcing anyone who wishes to own one of these weapons to undergo the weapon being used on them first, so they know what they are doing to others.

Also a good policy. Not appliable to lethal weapons, but totally appliabl to these. Id prefer a semi auto gun, because auto guns, on a normal person, tend to spread shots around, hitting innocent people. semi auto is controllable fire.

There would be alot of rape, kidnappings, if that was invented and issued to the public.
atleast if you were getting shot at, there would be alot of noise, youd have a chance to run and etc,
but if that was invented and given to people all you'd have to do is shoot someone when no ones around and throw them in you car.
Kindapped.
Im talking about the Neuro toxin part btw, If you were to get shocked Im pretty sure it wouldn't be so discreet lol.

Fuck em all watch em fall screaming
I say make the weapons make a LOT of noise, like an airhorn to alert all nearby citizens that someone is in danger, then all citizens can draw at the same time and move in like commandos and hose the motherfucker down who is causing the commotion. And as for kidnappings and rape etc, that would be punishable by death. I am all in favor of putting to death those who violate another human in that manner. That or get an island thousands of miles from any civilization or other islands, and then drop all the criminals there like survivor. Give them some seeds, and air drops every so often. Whatever happens on the island happens, its their fault for winding up there. They should not have violated another human being. Genghis Khans empire had one of the most crime free empire in history, and it was due to fear. He executed people for crimes, including theft.

Re: Gun control
the 'wild west' was not what the movies portray. for the most part folks carried guns to shoot snakes or other wild like that would try to eat them. Sometimes that included other humans.
Violent crimes happened where there was no law and the law moved a little slower than everyone else. I expect that to be true no matter where you are.
I also pointed out if everyone haveing a gun means a lack of law then Texas and Floridas hould have skyrocketing crime rates. they do not.

I am sorry I do not agree champ and dray! If someone is after me they gonna die I don't want shock them or incapacitate them(unless i carry them to a descreet location and cut them up)! Sarah I agree! I also don't like the idea of the government knowing every weapon someone has because sooner or l8r they will want to know what every one has and young girls who are the ppl who need guns the most wont be old enough to have one! That makes it stupid! In my opinion gun control just means criminals that are good hackers can find out what houses have firepower and which ones don't!

Re: Gun control
Uh i dont mean to crush your dreams, but you ever heard about IRS? Its an annual system where people with income must put forth what they purchased and sold during the year. In short, its a system so the government knows more or less what you have. And if you wish death to people, you will only receive death, since your dont seem much different from those people you want to kill with those words. You know, criminals.

Re: Gun control
I blame poor living conditions and a lack of emphasis on improving one's life. Everyone, save for a few factors, has equal potential.
As for the death penalty, I don't agree with that, mistakes can be made, and taking another person's life puts us on the same level as the criminal. I used to be in favour of it as a way to keep jail costs low and as a method of revenge.
But, after reading the book a lesson before dying, and personal reflection, I came to the conclusion that it is inhumane.

Ones view on the death penalty often changes when they are facing it.
Not you Nihil.
It is weird that the very people that are against killing murderers and rapists are the loudest proponents of abortion...
Sorry OT

Re: Gun control
Death should be necessary, not a pleasure. It should be the last resort, not the resort you escape from. It should be sad, not enjoyable. Revenge molds the world, culture and people, but it only molds the belief that revenge is the right thing to do.

Sources? Every history book I have read shows a very high murder rate per capita.

The perfect achievement of IRS is to know everything that is transactioned. What you do with things, where those things are and all is of no point to the IRS. They only wish to know you have sold it or received it.
