We decided the character needed to be physically imposing, and inspire fear. So the choices we have were Anzati, Shistavenan, Wookiee, and maybe Ratataki. Wookiee we couldn't do because Lucas publicly stated there would be no more Force Sensitive Wookiees, and he's willing to go after fan fiction writers. Ratataki weren't very imposing, just mean looking. Anzati and Shitavenan fit the bill perfectly and Shistavenan were stronger physically so we went with that.
