Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
Act wrote:This amendment to the charter is to ensure that older retired members (ones who no longer play the game itself) who had such legendary skill in the game that they are still spoken of highly years later, are to be remembered for their contributions to this clan. To qualify as a legendary saberist, you must have served in JvS a minimum of 1 year with no retirement letters or being kicked out. This year must be a full consistent year. After serving this time, you may request the council consider your status as a legendary saberist. The council will debate and vote if you are worthy of being considered a candidate. Once you are considered positive for being a legend, a clan wide, 7 day poll will be held. A legend must achieve 75% or more majority vote from all clan members, retired or otherwise, basically anyone who has access to the darth bar.
Voters are asked first and foremost to vote based on the fact that this person was one of the most difficult and dangerous adversaries they have ever faced in JKA history. But the second consideration must also be, "has this person made a name for himself?" "Has this person achieved enough reknown in our JVS community to be worthy of the title Legend?"
Once voting is done, and a Legend is established, his rank in the roster will include "Legendary" before it. IE: "Legendary Jedi Guardian".
A legendary member is immune to rank loss based on skill tests. He has proven himself beyond all dispute and the community has spoken. He may still be demoted based on poor conduct and is still expected to behave in the forums should he continue to interact with the clan in that way even though he no longer plays the game. Besides that there is no difference in ranks between a regular JG and a legendary JG, or a legendary SO and a regular SO.
Note that legendary status does not grant current BM, or SA positions permanence. Once you retire from the game you will relinquish your BM or SA title and retain a specialist rank if Jedi, or SO rank if sith and remain as a legend in that rank.
Current Status: In Senate.

Probably just rename it to JvS Jedi Legends and JvS Sith Legends, would make it a little more obvious that they're just stories and not Legendary members.

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
who had such legendary skill in the game that they are still spoken of highly years later
are to be remembered for their contributions to this clan.
So if I have not 'legendary skills' but I'm very useful and devoted to the clan I can't become a legendary member? Same with having skills but not being devoted to the clan?
And what is more, I think it is unnecessary, really. People to remember, will be always remembered. But not just because they have skills, it doesn't really matter. I will remember clan mates for moments spent ingame, moments of fun. For me, the "legendary" addidtion to the nick, will be just an opportunity to increase self esteem.

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
I kinda agree with Chaos here, but at the same time, if reasoning against it is people should already know that you are legendary, you don't need a rank to prove it, then what's the point of any specialist rank like JG. If people already see and people are gonna talk about how great you are with single, you don't need a rank to prove it do you?
Still, I'm not a fan of it.

you are missing the point of the act. giving recognition is part of it but also insuring making sure that someone's hard work in achieving that level of excellence.

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
Yea, see that's where I'm split, because certain members do deserve a type of recognition, but what Chaos and a few others are saying is that it's really not necessary, because if they are really honorary, people should already know who they are. So, if passed, I propose for each legendary member, at least say what they have done and why they are honorary, because some people just know that a member is honorary, but not why.

this whole thing is an excuse for champion to keep his JG without showing up...
If you really want to keep your rank, just prove it. What is so hard about that?

I don't think he is discrediting Champ I just think he is pointing out what it looks like. That's what it looks like too me as well but I know how much he does for the clan and I know he is a good saberist but it just seems like he is covering his butt. Again, not discrediting what he's doing/done for the clan.

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
I see that and don't question his contributions
but Why does he need to let his ego constantly show itself?
I feel he's using this as a way to be above the law and everything
which is pretty ironic considering this clan's founding which was based on democracy and a conflict with chillums who was autocratic
by using democracy, champion is now placing himself above others since he doesn't have to come on at all

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
not really. He stated he would leave if he was kicked. Sure its ego and sure its made for him, but ya knw, he sort of quit JKJA...so demoting him for that despite the awesomeness he was, is kinda lame. So yeah creat an honorary rank, end story.

not sucking up. Though I will say I am somewhat impartial in this regards ofc, having known him for quite a while. What point is there of me sucking up to him? I find that accusation rather unfounded and blasphemous

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
I agree with span on this one. Besides ranks like JG are for more active members as to say these are currently the best of the best. I remember that he said the if he came back he could beat most people which i don't doubt, but that doesn't take JG skills. i dunno why he wants to keep it. it's really meaningless unless he's actually on. He's still the HIGH CHANCELLOR, and a member of the senate i believe. Isn't that enough to show how important he is to the clan?

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
I love how its the people who had HUGE egos themselves who are opposed to this. Its like they feel threatened. Don't worry span and muigi and whoever else opposed this, you will get what you want very soon.
BTW this VOTE FAILED
It failed not because the Senate wanted it. it won in the senate 9-1 iirc. It was the council that shot it down, spearheaded by Span obviously. Just thought I would mention the reason things to come will transpire.

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
Technically the Senate can still try to revise it, but it failed the way it is because if someone fits this then they have to be both good and retired, as well as being a nice overall person. If you retire on Good Terms with JG, then you come back with JG, so in that it's completely redundant. And if someone is extremely talented then people remember him. I still find people saying, "You remember Ares, he was the best!" Found people who did the same when talking about Moo.

Re: Legendary Members Act - Revised - Passed
You know, Champ, people mention you quite often, especially for the skill u had..
I've heard it uncountable times. I don't compare anyone to myself/another person, so I don't mention any names at all, but still, I hear about you and the jvs members I didn't get to know, since I joined jvs later on..
So all this fuss about ur JG rank is pointless...Anyone who saw you play knows that you're over that rank.
Oh and since I know I'm gonna get accused for sucking up-NO, I have never sucked up anyone, neither I have reasons to.
