In fact anyone who was wondering and hoping that it might be FTP, well you're in for disappointment as this is the final nail in the coffin of that dream. The subscription will be at least $10 if they're already cocky enough to put out a pre-order without a release date. I'd say we'll be lucky if it's ONLY $15 a month.

There is a monthly. I say this based of the fact that one of the selling points for the Pre-Order is a 30 day free trial.

that depends on player base. server costs and customer support ARE very expensive. and last time i checked ptolemy league of legends, wich is bar none the most successful cash store game ive seen, has already server problems constantly being full.

I would have to agree.

Most of the time i get in with no issue but there are times that my login is delayed. That and the upgrades they are doing taking features away temporarily

and thats just league of legends, te most successful one. granted i think theyre being fucking greedy and not wanting to double server sizes, but oh well. no way to know without seeing the income.

Well for it being a 'free game' i have spent probly $50 buck over the last 6 - 8 months on it. Not counting the cards i have gotten Ara for Bday and such.

So nobody here is intersted for RP? I am getting little tired of playing NwN2 last 5 years. I would like to RP in star wars universe with my own character with some of JvS members. and tOR seems to be game that can offer RP servers.

It was kind of inferred that it was going to be Pay to play from the beginning.

im still gonna give the game a try, but that plan for division is still months n months away. maybe even longer. Im sure as hell not doing RP...i just want the bloody story lol...and my lvl 50 assassin raping kids

It's pay to play, that's public knowledge. Right now the only question is if it'll be 10, 15, or 20 dollars per month. If they go with a microtransaction in-game store for upgrades then there's a chance of it being as low as $10, if not the standard default is $15, and if EA is greedy(which they are) and think they can get away with it(which, this is TOR, so they probably can) they'll charge $20 and set a new standard for wallet rape in the MMO world.

they will already get millions of dollars and euro's and all the other types of money. they will already make a good size profit! making it pay to play is just pure greed. now if it was like an online store thats smart and not greedy, but pay to play, is dumb.
