Tips for making backrtounds for sigs

I don't really like some of the backgrounds I make for my sigs can anyone give me some pointers

1) Stock Image

or

2) Use the Render As Background

For Both: Add effects!

yea I usually us the render as 1 but for some it dosen't come out really good

Ripple and OCean ripple are good effects for backgrounds

Can you give me a lil more info about those, I usually just use Pick all the time

I usually fiddle around with them so I can't rlly say

They're in the Filter tab if u dont kno

Filter > distort
