Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
http://www.mountandbladewarband.com/
Fucking AMAZING skill based multiplayer, very easy to learn, almost impossible to master. I love it because it allows talented players to shine. The action is gritty and realistic. Its a very well done game, and to top it off, it has a very extensive and awesome single player as well. For the low release price of 30$ you cant go wrong.. If anyone wants to learn how to play I can help you out.

NO elves, NO magic, NO bullshit. Just real medieval gritty warfare. After playing this game, I am GLAD I did not live back then. The things those men had to face in warfare is unspeakable. I always wanted to live back in the medieval ages because I saw it in such a romantic way. Not anymore... this game is brutal.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
this should be fun, but i would have to see some gameplay mechanics first to ensure diversity. this can get really boring really quick if you dont make it tight.
but from what i see, its a Lot like BattleFront 2. your one of the warriors in the middle of a battle, and Bf2 gives you a feeling of strategy game, just like this does.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
Ill give you a quick rundown.
There is basically 3 different types of combat, and each has its pros and cons and does well against another sort, much like real life.
Mounted combat is all about speed and mobility. You are also a larger and more prioritized target in most peoples eyes. Your main job is to flank the enemy and kill their archers and cavalry, providing a screen for your infantry.
Archer combat is rather dull for me. The system is intricate. Each bow has its own tension and "feel" and it takes a LONG time to master. Its very hard to get a head shot, but nothing like hearing the hollow sound of an arrow impacting skull for satisfaction.
Infantry combat is very intricate. You can swing in 4 general directions, but you can also block in those 4 directions. What that means is, unless you have a shield, if you dont block the correct way you will get hit. This means using big weapons like the 2h sword very hard. Yes you do a lot of damage and had a big weapon, but blockng with it is a bitch without a lot of practice and you are still vulnerable to arrows since you lack a shield.
As an example of the blocking, lets say I have a 2 handed sword, and you hav a short sword and shield. I swing the first hit (better range) and land a massive blow on your shield. It cracks slightly, but is still useful. You then swing a right swing at me, I quickly hit block and right, and I block your hit with a satisfying CLANG sound. I then do an overhand chop. Again you block with your shield (only 1 button to pres) buit here is where the negative aspect of the shield kicks in. With that second massive hit your shield shatters! Now you have a small sword against my big one. YOu miss your chance to swing back since you panicked cause your shield broke, so I swing again, this time a side sweeping left swing. You successfully block somehow using block and left, but the hit stuns you since my weapon weighs much more. You try to attack, but still stunned I get my next swing off faster, and it connects to your head. The sound of steel hitting meat is heard, and you slump dead.
Its a pretty intricate system... trust me.

This game is the shit, I own it myself and it's awesome. I'm a huge BF fan (BF2 sucked), and this added medieval stuff to it, which is also one of my favorite things. WIN

Only with warband can you play multiplayer.
In my single player campaign I finally earned enough reknown to be accepted as a vassal to the Swadian King. He granted me a fife right near the enemy kingdom of Rhodoks borders... perfect. Now my plans to become king are starting to fall in place.. mwuhahha.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
You can buy it directly from the website. Trust me its the best 30$ I ever spent on a game. There is a free demo that allows you to play your character up to level 7 or so (about 3-4 hours of gameplay). That should get your dick wet and you can see how the game works. Of course... real opponents are much more challenging and unpredictable than bots.
If enough people get and play it, we can even form a MB branch of the JVS clan. Or even a small subforum here.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
You can DL it. Then of course burn the prog to DVD if you wish. I bought the old MB back in 2007, and over the years I reinstalled it and each time I forgot my user name etc. Each time teleworlds gave me an email with new DL instructions, so trust me, once you pay for the game its yours as long as teleworld exists. And like I said, just burn it to DVD. The game seems to be very popular in europe, so lucky you, most servers are located there.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
We should lay some ground rules. Like say, we need at least 5 active members for a game to recieve a sub forum. Those 5 should try to recruit new players to the clan from those games if possible. If we open that can of worms though, we need to prepare new application forms, etc. We COULD turn this clan into a multigame, internet goliath if we wanted, like the Shadowclan Orcs (anyone who has played any MMO will know who they are).

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
yeah, but ShadowCLan has the itty bitties all done for them. ALL mmo's are clan oriented, so anyone who wants to join shadowclan in one of the games, just plays that game, and if you played another one, its pretty much the same thing, since all MMO's are pretty much teh same thing. we however, arent a MMO clan. we have to create clan divisons, forums, servers, and dissect each game, making us far more complex.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
Thats true. I guess we could keep it to a sub forum for those interested. Should have at least 5 + full members interested in the game though (at least 1 month of dedicated playing on the other game and still wanting to play the other game)

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
And this is where the Drama House came into use. we already sorta have applied this. the thing is, we were just applying it to a different sub clan. The Mando faction, or the IC faction. they are perfect bases to set this off. That is why i always held that forum as very important, since it was a sort of prototype for this.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
We could make an entire new tree for extra JKA gaming. Then each branch could be the subforum for the other game. Cant just be a game one person in the clan is interested in.. it should be a game at least 5+ people play.

Well no magic, if you want to keep it SW themed make it the Echani Faction of something along those lines.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
yes true, thing is, when you reach out to other games you have to be careful with new applicants. thats the major complication of such things, and thats why ShadowClans works good, since they can pretty much make the same applications/rules/etc to every game. we however, have to be careful when it comes to that. if this was to be done, we could make a subforum, but these forums could get pretty big if such happened. it would take some restructuring, mainly due to the Hall of Knowledge and the Enclave and Academy Part. instead of making new forums, first thing to do would have to be separating forums into two parts: The unversal parts, where the Cantina, the Pit and the Techno Union eg would be, since these forums can be associated with all games. Then youd have the other part forums, wich are the ones specific to each game. you could have, as we do now in LeaderShip, RolePlaying and such, you could have a sub group called JKA, another claled BF2, another called MB etc etc. takes some erestructuring thats all, and this is all theory and schemes for now, but its good to plan ahead of things.

Re: Most awesome game ever (where I have been)
Forums would be massive even expanding it to two games because you'd need separate Leadership for each. I can help with BF II since I played it a lot on PS2, but I wouldn't be an effective leader in this Mount & Blade thing because I don't play and I don't have the money to buy it.
