The 1st-7th of every month is a trial week.

During these weeks Jedi may request a trial from the Grand Master or Master Council.

These trial weeks are also on the Website Calendar(not the Forum Calendar).

Jedi Grand Master/GM, Jedi Battle Master/BM
Jedi Master/JM, Jedi Guardian/JG, Jedi Sentinel/JS, Jedi Consular/JC
Jedi Watchman/JW, Jedi Trainer/JT
Jedi Knight/JK
Jedi Padawan/JP
Jedi Initiate/JI

Tier 1:

Grand Master

The Grand Master is a Jedi Master (Not Combat Specialized) that has been elected by the Council and (if this applies) the previous Grand Master to play a leader figure for the Jedi. They will control ranking of Jedi, and govern the Jedi. A Grand Master may teach and train a Jedi of any rank, but it is not necessary. They will be the primary overseer of the Jedi, to observe them and call them out for a trial when it is the time is right for them. This will be according to current rank, and knowledge of that person.

In order to rank a Jedi, a thread must be made in the Faction Ranking forum, where the Council may give feedback. Council feedback is not necessary to begin ranking a Jedi, but a thread must be created so that the Council know who is being ranked and what to change on the Roster. Such threads can only be created by the Grand Master. A Grand Master may also demote a Jedi for their own reasons, but must again create a thread stating what they have been demoted to and why.

Administration: Grand Masters are granted Level 2 Admin rights by the Council.

Requirements:
A)Must have been a Jedi Master for at least 1 month.
B)Knows the faction and ranking systems thoroughly.
C)This rank granted as stated above, and cannot be achieved by promotion.
D)Active.

Battle Master

The Jedi Battlemaster is highest possible Jedi rank in JvS. The Battlemaster is a Master in the use of every Lightsaber(Single, Staff, and Duals), to the point of being able to achieve any of the Jedi Specialization ranks. There will be only one Jedi Battlemaster at a time, in order to gain the rank you must prove yourself better then the current Battlemaster by winning 8 of 12 duels. The Battlemaster should always be either the Grand Master, or a member of the Council, because he will be considered the strongest Jedi.

Trials:
The Battlemaster must be able to beat any Jedi Combat Specialist in his chosen style. Meaning a Battlemaster must be able to beat a Guardian with Single, a Sentinel with Duals, and a Consular with Staff. In order to be granted this rank a majority of any Jedi Guardians, Sentinels, Consulars, and the Grand Master, must agree he has the qualifications, as well as having faced the person in question a minimum of 6 times and lost to the person at least 3 of those times.

Only a Jedi Combat Specialist can try out for this rank. If there is a current Battlemaster, then the person who wishes to attain this rank must, not only have the majority approval of any Guardians, Sentinels, Consulars, and the Grand Master, but also beat the current Battlemaster 8 of 12 duels. When facing the Battlemaster you must prove yourself better style for style and cross-style, meaning you must show you can beat the Battlemaster: Duals vs. Duals(two duels), Staff vs. Staff(two duels), Single vs. Single(two duels), Single vs. Staff(one duel), Single vs. Duals(one duel), Staff vs. Single(one duel), Staff vs. Duals(one duel), Duals vs. Single(one duel), and Duals vs. Staff(one duel). You need not win every fight, but you must show you can win a majority of the fights in every possible combination. The loser of this challenge, then will be demoted down to Jedi Watchman for a month to refine their abilities again, after which they can try out for a Combat Specialization rank.

The Battlemaster may only be challenged once every two months, by one person. The challenge may only be issued in the first week, and is to take place as soon as both can find an agreeable time, this may take place past the first week, but the challenge itself must be issued in the first week.

Responsibilities:
1. Must be willing to train any Jedi. This does not always entail a long-term apprenticeship, it can also mean just short trainings, or answering "how to" questions.
2. Must be willing to lead Jedi, in any matches, in the absence of the Grand Master.

Tier 2:

Combat Specialization: A Combat Specialist is a Jedi who has chosen to fight rather then teach. As such they are not required to have a Padawan, nor are they prohibited, therefore they will not receive a teaching thread in the Training Center forum. This is true of every Combat Specialist, except the Battlemaster.

Teacher: There is only one teacher role in the Jedi. This role is for those not interested in becoming combatants and would rather show others how to fight. A teacher's skill level may very wildly, but their knowledge is considered equivalent.

Jedi Guardian

A Jedi who has chosen the path of fighting with a Single lightsaber can attain this rank by choosing to wait and hone their skills, rather then taking the teacher's path of training three students to the level of Jedi Knight. A Jedi must develop their skills to the level of an Overlord, because they are one of three Jedi answers to the Overlord. As such a Jedi Knight choosing this path is likely to remain a Knight a long while before even being considered for the rank. The maximum number of Guardians the clan can have at any one time is five. This is the maximum, but there is no minimum.

Requirements:
A) Must have been a Jedi Watchman for at least 1 month.
B) In order to be granted Jedi Guardian a two-thirds approval from all current master level Masters Councilors as well as, the Grand Master and Battle Master.. If all current Guardian slots are filled, then the Masters Council will choose a Guardian for the challenger to fight. The winner of the challenge will get the rank of JG, the loser will take up the rank of Watchman for a month at which point they may again challenge if they see fit. Both the number of duels, and the number of wins required by the challenger are up to the Masters Council.
C) A Guardian must re-certify every three months to make sure his skill level is still high enough to retain the rank they possess. This recertification is executed by the Grand Master and Battle Master, and is to be decided between them. If a Guardian is found to have degraded sufficiently in skill, then they will be demoted back to Watchman for a month, upon which they may retry for the lost rank.

A Jedi must develop their skills to the level of an Overlord, because they are one of three Jedi answers to the Overlord. As such a Jedi Knight choosing this path is likely to remain a Knight a long while before even being considered for the rank. The maximum number of Consulars the clan can have at any one time is five. This is the maximum, but there is no minimum.

Requirements:
A) Must have been a Jedi Watchman for at least 1 month.
B) In order to be granted Jedi Consular a two-thirds approval from all current master level Masters Councilors as well as, the Grand Master and Battle Master. If all current Consular slots are filled, then the Masters Council will choose a Consular for the challenger to fight. The winner of the challenge will get the rank of JC, the loser will take up the rank of Watchman for a month at which point they may again challenge if they see fit. Both the number of duels, and the number of wins required by the challenger are up to the Masters Council.
C) A Consular must re-certify every three months to make sure his skill level is still high enough to retain the rank they possess. This recertification is executed by the Grand Master and Battle Master, and is to be decided between them. If a Consular is found to have degraded sufficiently in skill, then they will be demoted back to Watchman for a month, upon which they may retry for the lost rank.

As such a Jedi Knight choosing this path is likely to remain a Knight a long while before even being considered for the rank. The maximum number of Sentinels the clan can have at any one time is five. This is the maximum, but there is no minimum.

Requirements:
A) Must have been a Jedi Watchman for at least 1 month.
B) In order to be granted Jedi Sentinel a two-thirds approval from all current master level Masters Councilors as well as, the Grand Master and Battle Master.. Jedi Watchman

Jedi Watchman: Is a Jedi on the Combat Specialist's path, with a high degree of skill in-game. They are better fighters then Knights and have more knowledge in how to use the various moves the game provides over multiple styles. Like a Knight a Watchman's trial is split into two areas: 1. A Test of Knowledge; 2. A Test of Skill.

Test of Knowledge: A test of knowledge consists of a battery of tests of various basic and complicated moves for each style. During which the person being trialled will do their best to demonstrate as many of the moves listed to the trialler's satisfaction. The results of which will be factored with the Test of Skill to achieve a final result.
Single Moves: Red Combos, Red Poke, Red Delay, Wiggle, Fan, Pivot, Yellow Poke, Yellow Delay, Diagonal Combo, Block, Counter, Blue Poke.
Staff Moves: Pivot, Staff Glitch, Diagonal Back-swing Ignition, Ignition Fan.
Duals Moves: Pivot, Diagonal Fan, Double Lunge, Ignition Fan.

Test of Skill: A test of skill consists of a series of duels consisting of four duels using any or all of the three styles: Single, Staff, Duals. During these tests of skill of person being trialled will do their best to defeat their trialler and the results will factor in with the Test of Knowledge to get a definite result.

To Achieve the rank of Jedi Watchman, the person in question should be able to demonstrate skills matching the following:
Sentinel Path: Being able to perform all Duals moves to the trialler's satisfaction and displaying the skill of a Sith Marauder with Duals.
Consular Path: Being able to perform all Staff moves to the trialler's satisfaction and displaying the skill of a Sith Marauder with Staff.

Jedi Trainer

Jedi Trainer: Is a Jedi on the Teacher's path who has proven themselves more knowledgable then the average Jedi Knight and has displayed they're ability to teach this knowledge. The trial for a Jedi Trainer is split into two fields: 1. A Test of Knowledge; 2. An Accessment of Attitude.

Test of Knowledge: A test of knowledge consists of a battery of tests of various basic and complicated moves for each style. During which the person being trialled will do their best to demonstrate as many of the moves listed to the trialler's satisfaction. The results of which will be factored with the Assessment of Attitude to achieve a final result.
Single Moves: Red Combos, Red Poke, Red Delay, Wiggle, Fan, Pivot, Yellow Poke, Yellow Delay, Diagonal Combo, Block, Counter, Blue Poke.
Staff Moves: Pivot, Staff Glitch, Diagonal Back-swing Ignition, Ignition Fan.
Duals Moves: Pivot, Diagonal Fan, Double Lunge, Ignition Fan.

Assessment of Attitude: Unlike other trials, an Assessment of Attitude is done as time wears on, and is an evaluation of the patience and helpfuless of the person in question. A Knight seeking to eventually become a Master must be patient, and be willing to help at all times, and as such, this is less a test then it is a constant lookout.

To achieve the rank of Jedi Trainer, the person in question must not only pass his Accessment of Attitude, but match one of the two following parameters:

A Test of Knowledge; 2. A Test of Skill.

Test of Knowledge: A Test of Knowledge consists of a battery of tests of various basic and adept moves for any style. During which the person being trialled will do their best to demonstrate as many of the moves listed to the trialler's satisfaction. The results of which will be factored with the Test of Skill to achieve a final result.
Moves: Block, Counter, Delay, Fan, Pivot, & Poke

Test of Skill: A test of skill consists of six duels using any of the three styles: Single, Staff, or Duals; the choice of which is up to the person being trialled. During this Test of Skill the person being trialled will do their best to defeat their trialler and the results will factor in with the Test of Knowledge to get a definite result.

In order to pass the trial, the person in question must fit one of the following criteria:
1. Demonstrating all listed moves to the trialler's satisfaction as well as displaying the skill of a Dark Jedi.
2. Demonstrating 50% of all listed moves to the trialler's satisfaction as well as displaying the skill of a Sith Lord.

One if pursuing Jedi Guardian, Consular, or Sentinel and help them improve their skills in order to rank to Jedi Knight. A Jedi Knight on the path of the Master must have his Padawans approved by either the Grand Master or any of the Masters Council prior to training.
