Multiplayer aint working on Steam

I have Chaos Theory and Need for speed undercover
First, NFS undercover. Every time i sign in, give or a take a couple of seconds, im booted out with a message saying im not reciving a connection from the server's.
On Chaos theory, says i can't connect to the server provider mess. Looked forums for this mess, and they did say the server was temorarily down. Which seems to be a recurring episode, On NFSU, havn't seen anything on the forums about it. No one on the bloody forums is helping me out what-so-ever.....
This has nothing to do with my computer right? its the provider?

firewall mabe, or mabe ports? (but only people hosting servers would need to open ports)

not true. There are a few games where ports may need to be open to function properly.

you need to make an exclusion for the program. thing is, you prolly need to find out the process that makes the connection.

no, just a messege from the game it self. Like Chaos Theory tells me: "Unable to connect to game service network, service is not available."
On NFS, somewhat the same thing and adds that its returning me back to career. Which it does

No it just tells you the ports for free, you have to pay to actually get it to forward for you.

theres instructions on the site on how to open ports on your own router. just find the router on their list.
