Any Old Republic players?

I've been thinking about getting the game, but I was wondering if anyone could give a yea/nay on it.

Would you mind spending $14.99 every month?

Have you played or at least know what happened during Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 and remember key events?

Have you read at least Deceived, Fatal Alliance, Revan?

Are you a story driven person or one of those people that doesn't give a fuck and just wants to pvp?

From what I've been through, It's hard to say. Each class has their own story and how they affect the galaxy. For Sith Inquisitor, your class story is more about YOU personally then the war and battles raging around you. It's more about achieving personal power and revenge on certain individuals.

Each class story is very much different from each other. I've made two alts and the story are pretty damn immersive. There's a lot of worlds you can travel to. Each world with my pace I can finish in like 4-8 hours. That's with doing every quest as well. You can join your friends on every single quest and do them together. You'll find that there's two factions: Republic/Empire. The twist is you will NEVER see the other faction unless you are on a planet that's engulfed in war OR in pvp.

Each class has 3 chapters and a prologue. Each class gets 5 companions that go along with your story. Flashpoints are basically like Raids from WoW, but heavily story-driven.

You can obviously customize your gear and how you're character looks. You get your own starship and participate in space combat.

Hmm, sounds pretty good. I'm a huge fan of KotOR I and II, and the subscription won't be a problem. I haven't read the books, should I get them? Also, I'm both of the people you've described XD. It sounds interesting; does JvS have a guild on TOR?

Not right now, not really more than 1 or 2 people in the clan play it.

Ah, I see. I'll probably end up starting towards the end of the school year, in may or june.

If we get about 10 active JvS people in it then we'll start talking building a section for TOR, but from what I've been hearing the PvP is unbalanced and most of the story lines are mediocre at best compared to KotOR 1 & 2, so it's doubtful we'll get enough people interested.

How do the guilds work in the game? Can players progress through their own story line with groups?

For guilds to work in TOR, from what I walked around and seen, you need four active people to start a clan. As in, when you go to the NPC, you need those 4 four people there.

And for the books, nah not necessarily. But, you'll (obviously) have a deeper understanding background about the characters. I just started a Jedi Knight class and the book REVAN feeds directly into that.

Alright, I just got Revan, so I'll definitely be reading up on it. The books aren't too bad either, haha.
