more of a subjective thing. ultimately....no, choice does not exist, if you wanna get reeeeeaaaally down to it, because pure randomness does not exist in the universe. we are simply uncapable of fully grasping all the gears that make it move.

But interpreting outside data and processing it into its own result is the choice

like i said. depends on what level of interpretation youre speaking. on the most technical and ultimate level, choice is unexistant.

It's a misleading question, but Dray's right. Choice doesn't exist because our environment and our own mind at the time will always churn out the same decision. Now that doesn't mean there's no individuality or that your ability to think doesn't matter, just the opposite, that's what makes a decision a decision is the mind behind it, all this means is that no matter how many times you run a question through the same mind, in the same state, with the same knowledge you will always get the same result. It's like a video, no matter how many times you rewind and watch a scene it will always play out the same given the same criteria, the only time it will change is when a new stimulus is introduced, but that also changes the scene so it's not the same anymore.

but if one has enough individuality, wont that make it possible for that person to actually have a true choice?

No because under the same circumstances you will always come to the same conclusion, and I'm not just talking about a given situation i'm talking about the same point in time. At that point your thought process will always come to the same conclusion, negating the possibility of choice.

Exactly. Your "individuality" is only experiences and influences one has come across throughout his life.
