jprax bores me, cept leon, he's cool and had a style i haven't seen before. =o

and admin for pugs isn't really a valid reason for having admin, that's a personal reason that isn't really helping keep order on the servers soran. =/

Formalish resignation - Page 2 Empty Re: Formalish resignation

Post by Aardvark Mon Jan 24, 2011 12:25 pm

Seriously, I go to watch football and hit the sack and when I come back this?

OK where to start, I guess with the obvious, infractions.

Infraction - Aragorn - Flame-baiting - Thread: GIW 15 discussion - 1/23/2011

Infraction - Haize - Flaming - Thread: formalish resignation - 1/23/2011

Second: Xzav I don't agree with your points, I think you're taking this personally, but I understand where you're coming from at the same time. I still count you as a friend, and you still have my respect as one player to another. I'm sad to see you go, and I wish you'd take a breath and reconsider, but I hope you find a place that's best for you. Be that as it may, Spidey was still right in what he did.

Third: You guys want to know where the "fun" went? Where the RPs and tourneys went? They didn't go anywhere, they're over across the playground having a good time while everyone sorts out their issues. Rules are made with the hope that they will NEVER have to be used. Rules are there so we can obviously see what's outside reason in a case. When people acknowledge this and don't press the boundaries it's all fun. The fun disappears when some jackass decides to press a "loophole" or just break the rule because they "don't like it" and proceed to whine about it. You see when a rule has to be enforced it takes out fun and replaces it with serious. And when serious is in the room everyone takes the time to voice their complaints about this and that. At that point Serious calls in his possy Strict and they set up and more ironclad version that takes the leniency and fun out of an event. RPs, tourneys, events in general are meant to be a natural organic thing that has unspoken boundaries, and when it's like this there's a place for everyone, everyone can have fun, then a jackass comes in with a knife and starts slashing away at it with glee. So in order to stop this we put the event in a metal box with certain dimensions and a better defense against jackasses. The problem is now there's only room for a certain number of people who can abide in this metal box and everyone else who wants to go back to normal tries to bend the box, complain when it doesn't give and eventually get spit back out of the box.

So what happened to RPs? Span, Lay, Ant, Deadly, Zohan, a whole shitload of people. People like Span who were just unwilling to deal with it, people like Zohan who were unwilling to conform to a changing RP, people like Lay who don't understand when it's appropriate to inject a new element, people like Ant who don't understand that RPs aren't all the time, people like Deadly who just didn't care that people were doing things, and a whole shitload of others who divided it into factions that people like me had to set up rules for dealing with.

So what happened to tournaments? Champ, Dray, Lucky, myself, and a whole shitload of people. People like Champ who think it should be huge, people like Lucky who think it should be small, people like Dray who complain about how people should be paired, people like me who think it shouldn't matter, and a whole shitload of people who take sides so people like you don't even show up.

Am I blaming anyone by saying this? Yes and no, everyone has their beliefs and ideas on what is fun and what isn't, and no one is willing to just go along with other people. Is this necessarily unreasonable? No, people by nature don't like new things, are afraid of change, but then it isn't unreasonable for people who try to accommodate everyone to structure a working system. So in short it's the fault of everyone and no one, it's the nature of a system that tries to accommodate all people.

So then the question occurs "How do we avoid loss of fun?" Simple, learn to enjoy the company of those around you, learn to just enjoy the everyday moments and make those events special moments where you forgo your comforts in an attempt to try to have fun in the way of another.

Oh i remembered something today. I find this a bit hipocritical of you Xzav. I recall a moment, a few ago, in GIW. You and Skorp were leading each faction in the event, and you were trying to start it. What was happening? You were asking people to be quiet so you could start, and people started talking even more, daring may i say. So the event took a shitloadof time o tart, we had to silence some people and everyone was pissed while playing. Now this event alone wouldnt have done much, but this happened 3 times. In a row. and you and Skorp COMPLAINED about it. So what did we do? We created the silence rule...and now it all comes full circle.

Also Aard, what exactly you mean when you say about me wanting to pair up people? Im not understanding exactly...

The GSC thing we tried a while back you said something along the lines of wanting to keep the match-ups even skillwise.

This is so full of bullshit and so utterly egocentric. Thinking that "Jvs isnt what it used to be" means that you should leave it to die, instead of staying and helping it get back on it's feet. You've been in the clan far longer than I have, and you just give up to your friends just like that.

I dont even get this admin bullshit, I for one never asked for any sort of responsability, because only a few people should have power in the first place.

Oh well, do as you wish, gl&hf.

I remember that and i will not try to lie to make myself look better. I did complain during that, and i do not remember why it affected me so much, i believe it was because i almost fought my best friend, but anyway, i know that GIW has been stressful for some, but remember. Its an event. although i do believe that people are entitled to what they have to say, whether people like it or not. Xzav. I will not persuade you to stay but if you want to leave, then its your choice. You and me have been good sparring buddies for a while and its a shame that you decided to leave over something as small as this. Yes Jvs isnt what it used to be, but hell, us older members have to try and adapt. I've adapted, Dray's adapted, kami's adapted, etc. But YOU have not. Im sure that my Formalish resignation - Page 2 876345 doesnt really mean much since ive only been able to communicate to you guys through the forum, But as stated before, things change. As towards what aragorn said about the whole admin thing, Who cares? Its a game, Not all of us see eye to eye, but we still are friends. And this whole "Take things to seriously thing" honestly people, learn how to take a joke and learn how to loose. just have fun.
As i said before, good luck in life, and have fun. and also dray, I think what he meant was that there were specific pairs that would fight against eachother so that the teams would be fair against one another.

Oh well, do as you wish, gl&hf.

Soulcast, i wouldnt have asked for admin had the clan been responsible enough to handle voting on the CW (we have tried it multiple times, and the spam of votes gave everyone a headache)

ever heard of something called being kicked off the computer? then getting back on in 45ish min for about 1 min? its called my dad was kicking my off, so i diddnt have time to kick things off. anyway, yes i do still plan on playing around the JvS servers and such, i submitted a friendship application.

And for all of you who have said i have given up without trying to change, i believe it or not have been, and several times. I introduced the Proven in the sith acadamy training grounds when i was a sith in order to train teh younger class of sith, and nobody was interested, i took the path JM rather than JG knowing i would be able to attain JG. I have ALWAYS admitted when i am wrong, and i have ALWAYS said sorry for it and was cool with the person, but after aragorn saying fuck you on the server i was done with it. That my attempts at getting shit done was passive aggressiveness. That my complaments to champ was a slap in the face to everyone else. Kami, i see what your saying, but you notice most of this clan doesnt care for formal events. The GIW is a schuedled event, and what used to have 20 people show up to. now has 6-7 people show up, we actually have to wait for enough people to come in order to start. and its been the same people. unlike before when there was a slew of people. and about the two weeks thing, gl with that. I dont think i would want to come back to a place where people complain about me whining and not trying to do shit, who then are insulted when i try to do shit. I do not mean this as flaming, even tho i wouldnt be suprised if i was infracted. Anyway, with aragorn saying i wanted admin for personal gain. what personal gain to a stand to pose? Guns? force? spawning shit? First off spawning is level three i believe. And anyone who knows me would know i never have cared for guns and force. and to whoever posted my 1 whopping post of the prax forums, its because i joined it the other day, and unlike most people in JvS, if i enjoy playing on the servers with people, i persue it.

Skorp, your still my sparring partner, and you will always fear the words:

SKORPEH DUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Razz

anyway, back to reality. I chose to do so because the original clan is a snake with its head cut off the moment champ left, aard instantly became the head that regrew, and he has clearly done an amazing job. But something bled in the process, and thats what i miss. The full on all jedi verses all sith race to 100 and shit. The days when you could list everybody in JvS and dawn was the biggest drama we had lol. which looking back on i lol at. it was like nothing. Now i have to watch out for stepping on peoples toes when i post. its ridiculous for me that i have to do that in a clan based around fun.

and bull, ill see you before two weeks, just with dif tags (my freelance or jprax)
