PETA got served

So, if you dont know this, ill explain it to you because it is quite marvellous.

There is this game, called Super Meat Boy, you MIGHT have seen around the internet.

Its a platformer, flash i think, where you are a guy made of meat, and you have to reach your damsel in distress thru various levels. It has unlockable characters and all, and overall, its a good game.

Now, PETA, THE association that is absolutist in its ideals for animal rights defense, complained about the game, and created a game parody, called Super Tofu Boy, where you play as a Tofu guy, and the enemy in that game is Super Meat Boy.

NOW, why PETA would even bother with Super Meat Boy, is beyond me, since there are absolutely no animals in this game, seriously, hes just made out of meat, like a human being. BUT, here comes the fun part:

Team Meat, the creators of Super Meat Boy, in response to this parody game, have actually created a unlockable character in their game called Super Tofu Boy. Also, one of the guys there, made a blog announcement about this situation, where he revealed he even created fake accounts in the PETA forums in a stupid idea that he could persuade them to do sth like this, but he never had thought they would actually go through with it, or that it would be sth so grandious. He also expressed utter disapproval to PETA, since he has a personal experience, where his best friend couldve died had not insulin tests on animals existed, since his best friend is diabetic, nd only thru animal testings would diabetes doses wouldve been created and manufactured.

Bottom line, PETA got troll'd and pwned, and this fake accounts and influences on their forums strikes me as possibly one of the most genius marketing maneuvers ive seen, as lucky as it was.
