Re: Time dilation experiment
What does this mean...?
Does it mean we move through time faster the faster we move?

Well faster is relative. Thats the whole point. So yes, if someone travels faster than you are, they are indeed moving "faster" (in your time) through time, but in their reality time is moving "slower" than in yours. So basically, the faster you go the less time passes compared to slower moving observers. This is fact as these experiments (and others) show.

That just seems obvious.

Re: Time dilation experiment
According to special relativity we can actually travel through time by using this law of nature. The paradoxes that would create for conscious observers is another story.

Re: Time dilation experiment
Theory is that time doesn't HAVE to exist, it exists because we are there to perceive it, and time will pass differently depending on how you perceive it. In this way it is possible to travel through time because it is not a law of nature, but a perspective of those observing the world.

Re: Time dilation experiment
It actually is a law of nature. We know its been roughly 14 billion years since the big bang occurred, and observers were not present to see that time pass for more than 99% of it. The thing is we see time as a constant, since we live in a single stream of it, when in reality its much better to see time as a measurement of energy expenditure. And thing there are MANY paradoxes and theories about what happens when you time travel. You would have to go into things like Destiny and other crazy ideas to understand most of them.

Re: Time dilation experiment
The theory that allows for time travel is based on time being by perspective. Several scientific theories are based off being viewed by an outside force, like quantum entanglement.

I think you are confusing general and special relativity.
