How to stop game trolls

Warband uses a system where when you buy a copy of the game, you get a unique ID number that comes with the install. Its attached to the CD itself, so even if you reinstall your ID is the same. This is superior to an IP since an ID cannot be proxied or changed. Once you are banned, you are banned. This closes the loophole that most MP games seem to have where a troll can bypass the ban by changing his IP. I hope that one day all games use this system, it would really be a benefit for the gaming environment.

There are ways to make new accounts...hard, but not impossible. Plus, i think there are pirated copies wich work with the multiplayer. It IS NOT a flawless system, but i convey that it is a good one.

No. You cannot make a new account. The install carries a unique ID code that cannot be changed, its hard coded. I am talking about Warband not the original M&B.

Would have to know how updates work server side, since servers are custom dedicated servers and without knowing the process its hard to say. If it is an algorithm installed into them, that can be cracked. Otherwise, acquiring Warband codification of updates can give you possibility of making as much accounts as you can. If it is simply a code embedded into the game, that can be cracked. Server is just banning that code, and unless it is cross referencing Warband data on games sold, it can be outmaneuvered by tinkering with the game.

Each install is linked to an ID. I don't get where you are getting your info but you cannot change that. Its not a serial number, its not a keygened number. Its an ID imprinted in the actual install, so unless you know how to reburn a DVD and change info in an actual install package good luck. The point is the script kiddies will be shit out of luck. Only really hard core hackers will be able to do anything about it, and how many of them do you think would waste there time to get unbanned from a server? (if its even possible, since every warband troll who has tried to circumvent these bans has failed thus far).

Warband is one of those, you can buy it off steam. Like I said it comes inside the install package, and I think the install package is authenticated via internet as well. All's I know is its NOT easy to cheat warbands system, I know of no one who has yet. Lol, no, script kiddies can do little more than copy paste scripts from google. Talking about cracking the game. The ID thing is not sth new like i said, and it has been cracked before. The only problem is multiplayer server side, because i dont know how servers use the ID system.

Yeah? What game? You speak as if you are such an authority on this as if you can crack warbands system yourself where all others have failed. You speak to argue and argue alone. This thread was meant to inform not be debated.

BTW every time you join a server in warband in case you didn't notice it says "validating serial key".

Kay, then you would need to feed false info iif the server gets updates on serial keys. And feeding info is almsot impossibe. You also have to realize that Warband isnt that big of a game to interest many people into hacking it. I dont crack games Champ, but i have some knowledge on the basis of how it works, like when you speak about physics theories and such, you are not a rocket science, but you have learned at least the basic mechanisms wich allow you to debate it. Assassins Creed 2 used a system where you had to connect to Ubisofts servers to play, they cracked it in a week. The ID system is just like any other serial key, and yes, they are hard coded into the games. The problem has always been cracking multiplayer. The good difference is that instead of banning IPs, they have started using the serial as ID too. MUCH smarter than using IPs.

TL DR, you cant outmaneuver the Ban without finding a way to outmaneuver the server key check. WICH IS hard to do. No script kiddy can do it.

You can play on a pirated server with a pirated copy.. which reminds me i still need to buy that game for the MP

^Problem is, Warband is not that famous, wich means not many people will lose their time to make a pirate server, and those who do, even less of them will have decent server configs or connections. A game like COD or WoW will have many fine 'private' servers, since the demand is so high.
