No, I think government should stay out of free enterprise, religion, and education. I agree with the original constitution, the goverment's purpose is to provide a military for defense, and provide a justice system for the people.

I think that too much government is not a good thing, but a government as a guiding hand would be a good thing

The governments hand in anything isnt good. A free market, without government interference has done more for the US than anything. You dont have to convince any leaders to change anything. What I mean by this is, James Cash Penney (J.C. Penney) wasnt raised in money, in fact he was very poor and began his retail career as just a one-third partner of a small store in Wyoming, when Sears and Montgomery Ward were the giants of nationwide retailing. J.C. had insights into changing conditions of retailing eventually forced these giants to change the way they did things, otherwise they would have to file bankruptcy. Can you imagine, if J.C. would have went to the government and said all the insights he had to create the successful business he had, how shot down he would have been because he wasnt well established at the time? How did he get his business to where it is now? Free Market. The prices and the economy spoke for itself and now look at J.C. Penny. If he would have went through government and the "big wigs" they would be like who is this guy-a part owner of some little store in hick town nobody has ever heard of- to tell us how to run things? It wouldnt happen without free market which means no government interference..
