Video Editing Software? Empty Video Editing Software?

Post by Moneyman Thu Sep 16, 2010 1:40 pm

I'm going to be making some videos for my guide on JKA saber combat. I use Fraps to record the video, but I'm pretty sure there must be something better then windows movie maker out there. I'm not a giant video editing guy, but I have a brain and can read tutorials, so don't worry about how complex the program is.

What video editing software do you guys recommend I look at? It doesn't matter if its free or not...(piracy is evil Twisted Evil )

To be completely honest Money, and i was surprised too when i found out, in the average of programs you find outhere, Windows Movie Maker is actually pretty good. Vegas Pro is nice and all, but you pay for it. Movie Maker is good, trust me.

O'rly?

Usually microsoft's default programs are meh(IE is okay, but media player is a bitch), but I guess Movie Maker worked fine for me, no sense in changing I guess.

Windows movie maker is really diverse and gets the job done, and does it good. Ive seen people create muzzle flashes and ghost affects. Ive seen people make it look like they blown their head off. Some guy made a James Bond gunbarrel scene.

Top 4:

Windows Movie Maker - Simple and you can do tooons(!) of stuff in it!

Sony Vegas Pro - Advanced AND Simple movie editor, can be used for special effects as well. *Costs money if not torrented* (My personal favorite, it has helped me countless of times.)

Adobe Premiere - Excellent editor. *Costs money if not torrented*

Adobe After Effects - 90% a Effects program, but can be used for movie editing as well. *Costs money if not torrented*
