clanmod i've played on its not too great tbh. its the rl equivalent of Apple vs Windows. or Google vs Bing. or even Saints Row vs GTA. Rip-Off of original mod.

Yea...Because winning by using red and giving your mouse a hand job is pro...

I rape people on base all the time, its the same mindless red poke whoring over and over again. The only advantage base has over MP is that its relatively "Ghost" hit free. The reason MP is superior to base is that it has "velocity based" damges, meaning that if you hit somebody with the weak side of your attack, you will do less damage. This makes red poke whoring punishable, so now you actually have to time your attacks instead of just wiggle whoring. Staff/dual saber fanning is overpowered, but it is still easy to punish. You just have to know how saber damage works on MP.

If the ghosting is to much of a problem, you can eliminate ghosting on MP by increasing the server FPS and altering the damages to compensate. Oh, and NO, it won't crash your server, unless your running it on a home computer from 2003. I've been running a server with 60 fps for almost 4 months with no problems.

Sigh... just sigh.

You assume wrong, I play base all the time(and I do like it). Its not that I think base requires no skill, its that far to many baser's think they are the elite gods of JKA because they can poke red, and they spew a bunch of crap about MP that they know nothing about(not pointing at you personally).

The reason people think Staff/dual saber fanning is un-punishable in JA+ is because they don't know how to aim properly in MP damages. Because of the damage system it uses, you have to aim pre-emptively to compensate for ghosting. Its annoying at first, but it gets super easy later on, and eventually you don't even notice how much sooner your aiming(until you go to base ). Next, people don't know how the velocity based damages work, they just run in and poke with red and wonder why they keep getting knocked back. If you try and hit somebody with the very beginning or end of your attack, it will do crap damage and you could get knocked back by someone in blue(seriously). Next, an unusual phenomenon I call "Bounce Parrying" happens in JA+ because of the idle blocking setting. Its a little hard to explain in writing, so Ill just post a quick vid I made:

Anyways, I rape staff fanners all the time. Staff fanning has crappy range, like really crappy, and they eat head shots for breakfast. I actually beat staff fanners with blue, it really isn't that hard if you have good footwork. If they like to poke fan or pivot, I usually just burst to their side and hit them or at least I get a bounce parry on them. The only time a staff fanner can really get on my nerves is when they use specific transitions. Staff to yellow transitions can be very deadly, and yellow to staff transitions make most of your attacks bounce parry. The staff users that give me the most run for my Money are the ones who actually know all the attacks on staff and how to use them.

Base and MP are just different, I like both for different reasons.

Duel Kata is annoying, but with good timing you can kill them pretty easy.
