Eugenics

Should humans ever do eugenics, be it through direct genetic manipulation or through breeding for a stronger human gene pool? Technically we are the only animals on the planet who can control our own evolution from this point out.

what benefits would it give?

seriosuly, answer, becuz so far as ive known, we cant genetically change ourselves yet to eliminate cancerous genes or stuff like that.

I dont like it....morally. I mean, people ideals would become....kinda racist again. but this time, racism towards the not perfect humans. i dislike this idea. let there be flaws in us, keeps us on the ground.

Not enough results to really say it's bad or good, but I have to believe there's a catch, or that it's impossible. We don't know what would happen if we just selectively remove genes, it may get rid of one problem, but cause another. Taking a cracked brick out of a foundation may make it look better, but it also weakens the bonds holding the rest together.

yeah. i mean, im all for development, but starting to experiment on these thigns with out FULLY knowing our genes and the reactions to such changes....doesnt end good. but my point was more of a moral point.

it would be another holocaust, or apartheid event....and not to mention, loss of even more individuality.

If it went that far yes it would be bad, but if it JUST meant getting rid of bad genes at birth, and not killing people then it would only be a plus. But again, I think we're a very long way from any SAFE way to do that.
