so it doesn't matter that the legislation denied the right of individuals and organizations their right to political speech 90 days before an election? the SCOUS upheld the limits on 'soft money' and struck down the portion that limits free speech.

it is ok to have a bias in news, that is what news is, but when you twist the facts, fox news, then you deceiving the weak minded or weak willed.
oh ya, ptolemy, freedom of speech is limited, get that through your skull, finally, I don't want oil companies buying the Obama campaign.
Your logic is flawed, it doesn't make sense that we allow multi-billion companies, Microsoft, throw their money at a campaign to show their interests.
Also, I don't think the first amendment addresses non living entities...
Business is business, private, for money, for profit
Government is centralized, it is public, for the greater good, and not for profit, in a sense.
Unless, of course, you want to privatize the government, because, in effect, that is what you have done, campaigns can largely be bought.
I'm not saying I support every part of that old bill, but I'm saying that allowing corporations to spend into campaigns certainly puts it so that private business interests influence elections. Elections voice the will of the people, therefore, private interests should play no role.
