From what I can tell this is a forced "Green" policy where the government can now force residents of the U.S. to buy "approved" products to replace those that don't meet the new CO2 requirements whether or not they have the money or resources to buy new "Green" products.

well thats just stupid.. i mean, recycling at thursdays in Canada is one thing, but this is just dumb, i mean you dont waste money recycling, so making it obligatory is acceptable, but this is duuuumb.

Yeah, giving the government legal rights to kick my door in for not having Energy Star appliances is something I would consider wrong....

The problem with search and seizure laws is that the government often times will discover something else someone should not be doing in the process. Many people do not like invasion of privacy for many reasons. The sort of law that simply puts more fear of the government into peoples hearts is an evil one in my opinion. A good government would have offered nice incentives, bonuses of some sort, it does not even have to be monetary.
