For ME fans

Looks like they'll expand the endings and give us some closure: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/116661-BioWare-Announces-Post-Ending-DLC-for-Mass-Effect-3-Updated Not changing the ending, just clarifying what happened in them. Should it answer my questions then I'll be happy, that's all I wanted. Thoughts?

I just want my questions answered. Like I said, I may not like the ending if it's bad, but I'll accept it so long as it's an ending without Citadel sized plot holes.

Time to resurrect this thing. Just finished all the new Extended Cut endings and I'm satisfied, there were actually endings, my questions were answered, some indirectly though I don't mind as I like storytelling that does so visually.

So what do you guys think? Have you even played them yet?

I just bought ME2 so now I can play it the way it was meant. Should take a couple of days then I'll hop on ME3

I'm on my second playthrough with my second import from ME2 so I have yet to see the extended cut endings.

I really do hate the suicide mission in ME2

first time I ran it, lost my entire crew. Lost all of my team, except Grunt, Jack, Miranda

Second time running it, I fucking lost Garrus.............And Jack :\ Was really hoping to have him back on my team with Ashley for ME3.

Which brings me to this. The part when Miranda and Jack start to fight and you have to choose a side, It's like you are literally sentencing one of them to certain death on the suicide mission. I did both the legacy missions for them. =_=, I don't understand why Jack died... I had her as my barrier through the swarm and Garris was with me along with Legion

to save them all you need a really good paragon, you need to have fucked up maybe only a select few times and you need ot choose carefully who to put on what teams, SPECIALLY in the final part. it also depends on difficulty. the hardest difficulty, you have to make a perfect run and you have to select exactly certain elements for certain jobs. otherwise, yeah youre gonna lose some. bottom line, in taking back the crew to the ship, use mordin, and holding ground use Grunt or someone whos a war veteran. the jack and miranda thing, you need to have really high paragon, that way you can use the paragon choice and split the two up without causing ruckus. but i have done runs of the game where i picked a side and they still lived so its not essential.

on a note, the jack/miranda is not the only confrontation on board the ship. there is a similar one between tali and legion.

As someone who played ME2 without the benefit of the ME1 save file adding bonus points I can tell you EXACTLY what you have to do. First off, if you're Paragon you can never and I mean NEVER choose anything Renegade or any Renegade interrupts otherwise your Paragon will fall short. Second, you need to do the loyalty missions in a certain order to optimize your Paragon that order is this: Jacob - Miranda - Mordin - Grunt - Thane - Garrus - Samara - Zaeed(if you have him) - Tali - Jack - Legion. Jack's loyalty mission won't grant much Paragon which is why you do Miranda's first so the points count and doing it in this order gives you time to build the Paragon to work on Samara(also requires pretty high), Zaeed(very high again, though reports differ), and Tali(very high to get her found innocent and get loyalty). Be sure to do all but Legion's loyalty mission before the derelict Reaper though and do all the side missions on places like Illium, Omega, and the Citadel. Third, upgrade your specific class and choose the option listed as 100% Paragon/Renegade, otherwise all the other precautions are worthless. Fourth, UPGRADE YOUR SHIP TO MAX SPEC.

Now for some variables. In the suicide mission you have to choose people who are loyal and fit the job. Tali or Legion(Kitsumi if you have her) go in the ducks(also, if you play on Hardcore or Insanity you HAVE to get to the final door before they mention they're feeling the heat or they WILL die regardless). Jacob, Miranda, or Garrus lead the other teams this applies for both times. Mordin is a weak link, use him to escort the Normandy crew back. Samara or Jack can maintain your field, but again they have to be loyal. At the final fight you HAVE to leave the heavy hitters behind at the line, Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed HAVE to be there otherwise you will lose weaker people like Tali.

Now you don't HAVE to have everyone loyal to survive, you can simply not assign any jobs to them and leave them off your team for the suicide mission. I've done this 3-4 times because Zaeed and Jack/Miranda are very hard to please. I would also recommend replaying ME2 if you have that many people dead, without Tali and Legion you can't, SPOILER: reunite the Geth and Quarians END SPOILER. Without Garrus you'll also have some problems as only EDI will have Overload and she's weak as shit. Miranda, Grunt, Zaeed, Jack, Samara, & Jacob provide a lot of war assets. Thane is the only thing that will let you get Salarian assets. Mordin is the only one who can cure the genophage and keep Eve alive and Eve rallies a LOT of assets.

I never lost anyone on my 3 playthroughs of ME2. I just was total paragon throughout. The only times it really gets difficult to save everyone and get enough paragon(or renegade if that was what you were doing) is if you decide against choosing the class mastery bonus of rank 4 which increases paragon/renegade scores. You always need to max out the class mastery power or else you will be screwed at the suicide mission one way or another. I mean you can still get max paragon or renegade without 100% paragon/renegade bonus but you just have to time things carefully. For my soldier I chose the other option and did all the loyalty missions that did not require full paragon first and eventually was able to do all of them. You can get extra paragon if you bring legion on tali's loyalty mission. I also always saved jack's loyalty mission till last and also you should probably do almost everything before obtaining the reaper iff.

and also if you are renegade, you can do zaeed's mission at any time. Aard said pretty much every else that is necessary to succeed

They really made getting your whole team like a challenge, hence the achievement :\ I had no clue you needed to do all of this. I finished ME1 as Paragon and imported my character to 2. I made a few Renegade options, but my Paragon was always a lot higher. Didn't realize how much those Renegade options screwed you over in the end. I'll just go to ME3 with the team I have and rerun ME with femshep later down the road

its only hard on the higher difficulties. on normal or lower. you dont have to be as picky as aard said.

If you imported a save Red then you shouldn't have these problems, the bonus points free up a lot of options so you don't have to be that strict. That list is only if you go into ME2, like I did, without an ME1 import. I suspect the only reason you didn't have loyalty is like Daa and I said, you probably didn't choose to max out your Paragon and Renegade option for your class and that will pretty much always screw you over.

started playing ME3 yesterday, and enjoy the game a lot. Like how shepard sounds more like a hard ass now

though, so far my big gripe is constantly having to change back n forth between Disc 1/2

After you deal with Tuchunka that stops.
