so im looking into buying a laptop

Im looking into buying a laptop ( mainly for school) and Im not sure whether I want to stick with windows or get a MAC Im looking at two different computers if I go with windows im going to get an ACER

depends on what you will use it for. Acedemics, graphic design, audio captuer and mixing/mastering then you could go either way.

If you are going to run BA games and loads of other Soft Ware get a PC

Complete ly worry free operation and a smaller App pool to draw from, also a bit more expensive, then go Mac.

im leaning more toward the acer because its cheaper and overall better specs for less money...

What do you plan to do with it Bob? If you intend to run games or graphic software then yes you need a higher end PC laptop, if this is just for taking notes, running equations, and doing research then pretty much anything will do and you should go for the cheap end.

mostly school, but I will use it for basically every things besides gaming...

Unless you're doing highly advanced programming or graphic design then go low spec and save some money. Even a Dual Core is pretty much overkill. I'd say look for something in the Dual Core, 250GB, 4GB RAM category, to cover your bases.

Yeah most laptops today, unless they have a basic intel chipset, are capable of playing some games. If you are not playing games you shouldn't have to spen more than... $400.00 - $450.00...

MAC is good if you want to create music. buuuut if you dont its just another regular computer. gaming wise, PC it up!

if you want to be worry free and you dont work on computer demanding things, then get a mac(if you got the money). i recommend the acer thou for the price. macs are good on this sector thou, specially considering their safety.

Haize for worry free? I would agree with Dray on the mac, PC for flexibility and performance.

Mac is generally more stable than windows. You ma y not have as many issues.

You havent met anyone who can use Windows well have you? Windows has more power and performance than Linux, if you know what youre doing and youre careful
althou Win 7 has been bringing the flexibility a bit down from XP.
