So as I begin compiling a list of epic retro games to downl...er...buy...I thought I would post a topic to discuss your favorite retro games. By retro I mean anything before the PS2/XBOX/GCUBE era. What games do you remember playing and what did you love about them?

Defender was the greatest game ever till they came out with Dragon's Lair. Loved the animation sequences.

depends on what ur into... i really liked final fantasy 3, and mario rpg... but i loved mario world... yay for yoshi Smile

Since I'm here:

- Asteroids (ORIGINAL): My Dad was amazing at it and I always have wanted to be like him. So I grew up with it and unfortunately forgot about it. I sense a download coming on.
- Centipede : Another great legendary game a grew up with from my dad and his arcade epicness.
- Contra: My aunt and Mom had an atari when they were young and it was my first system ever. Contra was a game my and aunt and I would play for hours.
- Backyard Baseball: A game I discovered as a young kid. Got me into gaming.

I would start naming off old MSDOS games but I think the only people who would know what they were would be Aard and Champ... Maybe a couple other people... Anyway... You youngins with your disc's and down loadable content, I remember back when everything was installed from floppy discs! Those were the days, back when the old X-Wing and TIE-Fighter games were godly and came on 5 floppies each. Wolfenstien 3D, original DOOM, original Max Payne, Soldier of Fortune (newer then those), GoldenEye64, Mario (On original gameboy.), StarFox64, list goes on.

starfox 64=amazing, Dos game and floppy disks, i still have, and would use. i remember appache. man that game kicked some. i remember when floppy came out, when DvDs were unheard of. I pretty much came into the computer world while everybody was making the switch from floppys to CD's
