I think they have these TV programs in most countrys, may be interesting to see which people like the most. I know family guy is more for older people and most people here are over 14 so I predict family will win.

1. Family Guy never had linear, interesting or even BRILLIANT humor as THe Simpsons had. sure, it degraded the last years, but i still think the Simpsons had much smarter humor, was well fucking written, and i actually sympathized with the carachters and identified myself with them, turning it into even more funny/dramatic when it wanted to be.

2.EEEEH, DUUUUUH, WHERE DO YOU THINK FAMILY GUY GOT ITS BASELINE PLOT FROM?

3.Family Guy is stil lfunny thou, and cracks me up once in a while.

family guy is only funny becuz

A. it takes other jokes and makes them funnier

B. tries to have the least bit of story possible so it wont distract the viewer from the flashback jokes that seerve as a Deus Ex Machina to present any joke they want in the show.

C. fills half the show with celebrity references wich ARE NOT FUCKING FUNNY!

That's what I think too. I'm all for the Monty Python style :p
I don't think constant innuendos and celebrity slams are necessary to be funny. It's a little overdone on Southpark except for those 3 genius episodes about Imaginationland.

I have to agree with Dray, I find the Simpsons are much funnier because you have to think about it. I recall watching it when I was 10, then when I was 12, I finally got it, not because I'm stupid, but because I just wasn't old enough to get it. I find that still happens today. Family Guy is funny mostly because of the stupid shit that happens randomly. One second, Peter's talking to Brian and then Peter falls through the floor, for god knows what reason. People find it funny because of that and the stupid shit that they say after those occurrences. I find it funny though. Especially the Star Wars specials.

I loved that movie, although I do admit it was more Family Guy-ish than normal. It's till funny.
