Progress update for Daglas:

You improved notably with the fan and I am satisfied that you are on par with other padawans, and perhaps even better since you were restricted to using only fan. I noticed that you got to low hp against other padawan but that was proportional to the time spent on the duel and is how most duels will go especially if you are fanning.

The things u need to work on are:
1. Proper execution. Don't panic, calculate when it should hit as if though you were standing there with the saber and hit. You could easily have won those duels with rave with 100+ hp if you did full fans everytime she was hit instead of a few fan with diagonals
2. Finding the weak spot. You were good at this and were able to attack the opponent when she was exposed and dodge her attacks pretty well. However it can still be improved
3. Dodging, good dodging, but when you are fanning you want to use quick dodges so u can come back and attack the opponent as soon as possible rather than sit back and let the opponent come to you and dictate the rules. Use short jump and back off more (you only need to back up a little bit to avoid the saber and then move back in). You were able to do this well today but need to do so more on a regular basis.

yes you can help, as I said, you are free to take instructions from other players as you see fit and choose the style that suits you. It's possible my style of playing is not for you and you'd like to be more defensive, or aggressive..yes we shall meet again soon, I am wondering however, what times is it there when I post this?

yeah well heres my noob theory, what i do/gonna do is teach all the basic moves first pivot/fan/poke/comobos and such, then i teach them more advanced techniques to see if its there style or not

poke is not considered a basic move by me, in fact, I'd rather avoid teaching that till before parry and such. That has more to do with me thinking its lame than its difficulty though...but I have a right to teach my students the way I wish right?

alright so you are 9 hours ahead of me....hmmm is your school still running? If it is still going, then I think around 10:00 pm ish your place is good and if it is not then anything around 8:30 am -10:30 am ur place is good too

Course Completed : Fanning (Basics) B - you know the basics but still need to implement perfectly. Make sure to let go of the forward button completely. Even when dodging, dodging to the left or right is usually more effective since that sets you up for another fan, so when fanning, forget abt the forward key...sideaways strafe and shorthop are your friends. Use shorthop more defensively and shorthop more to attack while teasing the opponent by lingering just outside his range
Courses in Progress:
Fanning (strategy) - your getting much better at it, I'd give u a B right now but know u can do better. Be a little more aggressive and look for openings like a hawk looking out for a rat...and know which hits do the most damage. Overhead you can absolutely NOT afford to be hit by, but for pokes, you can afford to get hit by the 2nd strike if you are going to hit him with all 3 strikes since you will usually get the advantage of more damage. Either u get more damage or its blocked out, and when its blocked out, u have the advantage of being able to attack again before the opponent can since he needs time to start up the red attack.
Pivot - Still needs to learn C-, this course is optional
Fanning (Advanced) - THis is pretty much advanced on how u can mix fan with jumps, poke and crouch for more damage

I want to start with red next time we get to meet, so be prepared to fan for ur life in 2-3 duels, so I don't have to re explain anything. Even if you don't pass I want to show u red since it gets boring to focus on only one subject. Have funb Smile

yes I teach him when to fan through red hits, its important to know what hit does what and when the opponent is open, u can also just jump in there and fan and hope to get kills (which is what I do most of the time xD)...picking the correct moments to attack is the correct way to go imo..ofc its not easy so I will give him a lot of time to become decent at this. THere is no such thing as mastering strategy since everyone has weaknesses and strengths, its just that some are more effective than others.
