Use smudge tool and / or layer effects / other filters/ effects to get fading images.

I didn't know what he was asking....

What I do is, New Layer > Apply Image > Duplicate > Hide Copy > Gaussian Blur the original layer 2.3 pixels > Reveal Copy > Filer > Sharpen (Twice sometimes looks good) > Set to Overlay at 55% Opacity (Play around with the opacity till you like it)
