Ok guys, I have a ATI FireGL 5200v or whatever and was wondering what was a very, very good graphics card that wasn't too expensive? I try to run KOTOR1 and it says I need a Radeon 9200v or better... So any recommendations?

Get a Radeon 9600 if your mother board can handle it. Shouldn't be more then 60-70 bucks and it can run kotor 1 & 2, as well as EaW and CoD 4.

You can try X850 PRO or X1950 PRO 512MB but whats your graphic card slot ?AGP or PCI-e?

You better consult with some1 that works with PCs every day ,Frost. But for your system as i saw ... best u can set is x1950 PRO 512MB Smile

the laptop hardware is a part (hardwired) on the board. there are some components that can be swapped out like the hard drive or RAM but a video card is not usually able to be swapped out.

One bad thing about a laptop is it is hard or impossible to swap out the hardware.

dun know how efficient connecting a graphics card like that is. many external harddrives tend to be slow, as a friend of mine has like that. i could imagine a graphics card conneted like that...

Firewire may be fast enough. I have seen USB TV Adapters that work well but i am not sure the data rate will have the same requirements.
