Good player sees you fanning, starts approaching after the third swing because the fan will end soon, the fifth swing goes, they attack, suddenly there's a DFA. There's also the random chase to close the distance and DFA I've seen people do successfully.

You can't escape the fact that it's unbalanced. Has the speed of a Blue Lunge, the damage of 2 Red DFAs, and the parry rate of a stationary lightsaber. It's an over-powered move and I shouldn't be sitting there wondering if my enemy is suddenly going to do a 1 hit KO move when I close the distance.

I still think it takes skill to time and does not 1 hit KO always. if u get hit by the whole thing then it kills otherwise 100+ which is neutered by a good overhead. Another thing abt dfa is that you gotta get it right on the first go. After that it loses the element of surprise and opponent expects it. I think its fair simply because it relies on an element of surprise more so than anything else and that has a refreshing effect on duel, cuz srsly is anyone even remotely surprised if someone pokes, overheads or fans? Idts.

Difference is, Pokes and Overheads have a lot more warning then a DFA.

DFAs of any type rarely work. and if you get caught by one, well, idk. I get caught more than not but i am rarely serious when i get on to play... i guess that is the key word for me PLAY

See to me, it's not enjoyable to constantly be on the look-out for a cheap but highly deadly move that takes no skill to perform.

Agreed. Some of who do take the game serious don't want to be looking for that stuff because it's annoying, insignificant and such a noob thing, it's something you want to just discard completely.

If you're looking for it. If you're against a good opponent, and putting your attention towards analyzing patterns so that you can predict their timing, and then they do a Yellow DFA it kind of kills your good time.

soooo...ur saying its bad cuz it breaks a pattern, it still VERY rarely hits...tbh as a pro player it'd be more fun that way cuz if he suddenly dfa's...well, it forces me to be on top of my game the whole time rather than getting lazy and setting into patterns. And aard ur analyzing part is part of a gamestyle...that's your choice to play that way but for another person his gamestyle might be randomness, surprise or pure attack. I think it is unfair to call any one gamestyle lame. Even in sports, the most skilled don't always win, the smarter player always has a chance, in fact they usually come on top if the skilled player does not think enough or is outsmarted.

Hey it's an opinion poll. As you notice it's left on on both the TFFA and Clan War, and even my server still has it enabled. To me, it's a BS move that unbalanced and cheap. Doesn't mean I'm going to impose that on everyone, wouldn't be fair to those that still want to use it, I just won't duel when people start using it.

you are entitled to your own opinions but that basically restricts yourself to being unable to fight a certain move. See, Like I dislike poke but I will fight users who resort to it because it is common and if I don't I will be weak to it,

AoF clan, is a clan that looks down upon fanning and pokes and any glitches and thus will not duel anyone using them. They get rofl pwned everywhere they go if the opponent fans, pokes or even overhead glitches. Just don't use the move urself if u dislike it I think.

I'll fight other moves I disapprove of because I've learned to look for them and be wary of them(and a good portion of the time set move requires at least some skill to use). I cannot do that with Yellow DFA because it just does too much damage with virtually no warning.

There are no cheap moves for me, I fight everyone and every style and every moves doesn't bother me if I win or lose, I have fun and that is what I need from game. But we said our personal opinions, what about generally looking at those moves?

generally speaking, I'd say they are acceptable and need to be made for. Remember the idea is that a kata/dfaer is noob and that is the foundation of jkja. If we stopped being able to fight katas/dfa's then that means we really need to get ourselves back on line.

If it is allowed in GIW/ tournament...then it is essential to be able to counter it. Meh poke does not take much time you have a warning but the way that saber randomly moves position it's not easy to get a hit on him at all.

katas can be countered and if you get used to them they become less and less annoying. Besides it gets a little boring when you just do red stance and yellow over and over. It's fun to spice things up

As for force spam (FORCE CHOKE, FORCE CHOKE, FORCE CHOKE), lets just say one of the main reasons I joined snj was for the non-force tffa...but that's another thread entirely. Saber play has always been the heart of the game, anyway

LOL...force is just lame....seriously FF revolves around ppl holding choke while ppl do flips off the others face..insulting perhaps but if they put that in any star wars movie then it would be at a HUGE loss....hell even put that move (officially) in any game and ppl will LOL at how the great anakin skywalker (or whoever) is choking then running up to them to wipe his shoes on their face. Humorous...but by no means epic use of the force like TFU is.
