Love those birds. I used to have 2, a male and female an I built a massive cage for them in my backyard (down in FL). I put in a few wooden boxes with holes for breeding and sure enough, within a few years I had like 20-30 birds. They are so much fun because each has its own personality and each can learn tunes via whistling. I taught one of my birds how to whistle the chorus of Bon Jovi "Living on a Prayer".
The original mother of the brood flew away one day. I thought I would never see her again, but 2 days later when I was sitting outside she literally flew up to me and landed on the floor at my feet. I put out my finger, she hopped on and bloomp. Back into the cage. Was pretty sweet, like she missed her family or something more than freedom.

well he could not do the whole thing it was only the beginning of the chorus. It took a few weeks or months I dont remember but it was a long time. I noticed I could do it when they started trying to repeat me once in a while so I decided to try the same tune over and over to see if it catched and sure enough it did.
The hilarious part is that the older generations would whistle it to me around the younger birds and the younger ones would make a very bad impression of them.

Hahah, can you say fail birds?
I used to have a female one too, but she flew away.
We then got another female which was nicer...
Then she flew away too.
The males just a dick now, always ready to attack. And b attack I mean bite your finger .
