Soulcast's story:
It goes like this...

One day, a boy named Soulcast, was sitting, when he suddenly got bored...
So he went out, found a war, watched it, ate some popcorn, then took one of the Legendary Jedi Masters saber:
The jedi master said: "The...force will be with you...it will guide you to..*Gets intrerupted by soulcast*
Soulcast: I'm just gonna borrow this, k? And no, I don't want no fork , thanks.
And then, he went out, killed the nub siths...When he was about to leave, a group of jedi took him to some weird retro style temple where he trained...mainly because he didn't know where he is, and the jedi's wouldn't let him go and get a cheezeburger...
He bought another saber from IbAY-Intergalactic bay, and therefor became a Jedi Sentinel master of dual sabers...

"It Begins, the End of the Galaxy, Im Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End."

Prologue
Formally born on Felucia, Sqrl2k was very gifted in the force, he could manipulate objects without thinking. This sensitivity also made him vulnerable. He upset a Felucian Shaman who cursed him and made him be two different people. He was his normal self, but when he gave into anger, he became a puppet, what ever the shaman desired he would corrupt the poor boy into doing it.

Broken Grip.
When Sqrl2k joined the Jedi, he sensed he had great purpose, meeting many jedi friends. But when the shaman decided to corrupt the boy even further things got out of hand. He began seeing premonitions of his homeworld Felucia. These thoughts were dark and evil, most of his friends dying. He gave into the shaman's dark power causing him to turn to the darkside. But the jedi fought to save the poor Felucian boy who was corrupted by the dark shaman.
On the planet of Eos, which which was corrupted by the sith lords many years ago, Sqrl2k met the Felucian Shaman, Tsu-San. In an epic struggle they fought destroying parts of the planet, nearly destroying the planet itself. A jedi by the name of Kotor tried to stop Sqrl2k from destroying the shaman. Sqrl2k then stopped his rage attack. But the shaman (who was a Sith Manipulator) possesed Sqrl2k, hoping to kill Kotor and the rest of the jedi. But the shaman underestimated Sqrl's resolve and was struck down by Sqrl2k.

Haunted
4 years after the struggle on Eos, Sqrl2k became a Jedi Knight and barred a scar above his right eye from the shaman's saber. Sqrl then was an honorary jedi. But little did the newly knighted jedi know, the darkside called his destiny. Sqrl was sent to Alderaan to investigate a.. what the locals called it "paranormal activity" going on. While in the town of Lokipa, he decided to ask the locals about this phenomena. During the night, Sqrl sensed a presence in his area. Knowing that someone was stalking him he turned into an alley which to his dismay was a trap. In the night a Sith Stalker by the name of Starkiller (sounds awfully familiar.) engaged him in combat. The sith stalker was strong in the force but, he was overwhelmed by Sqrl's acrobatic moves and tricks. After the engagement, the Sith Stalker admitted that Sqrl was a strong jedi, but with the darkside he would become stronger. Sqrl then replied saying "You cant corrupt me you monster." the Sith then attacked Sqrl but was knocked down by Sqrl. As the sith escaped he said to Sqrl "Next time, you wont be so lucky." Sqrl then left the planet. Trying not to let the Sith Stalker's words haunt him, he went back to the Jedi Enclave on Datooine. He then told Grand Master Camus about the ordeal. Camus told him not to let the assassin get to him, but Camus knew otherwise. Soon after; Sqrl was to meet a fellow jedi on his home planet of Felucia. He was accompanied by a pilot who was close to Sqrl, Opae Ryea.

Corrupted
When Sqrl arrived on the his home planet he was horrified to see the Empire's old structures there among the rest of the corrupted planet.
He went to go seek this jedi he was supposed to meet with. But he was decieved. The assassin that attacked him on Alderaan was to final the score with Sqrl. The two engaged for the last time. Sqrl was brutally beaten but he sensed a presence, it was his old master Truay Suan. Who taught him the ways of the force. Truay engaged the assassin but was defeated, the assassin then told Sqrl to save his master, he must kill him.
Sqrl had a choice to make, kill the assassin, or save his master. Sqrl attacked the assassin with a rage not seen until the events on Eos. Sqrl's old master was killed and Sqrl was mutilated to the point of death. The dark assassin then took his mutilated body to his Dark master: Darth Massa. He was then rebuilt into a Sith Stalker just like Starkiller. But in a final scene, Sqrl had to prove himself to Darth Massa by killing Starkiller. He did just that, killing his "savior". When word hit the Jedi, Sqrl was honored for his heroics as a jedi.

Truly Reborn
As Sqrl was undergoing the Dark Lord's bidding, The Jedi decided that they would bring back the fallen hero by ressurecting his jedi form. To do this they needed to get his DNA. A Jedi by the name of Sulu was tasked to finding Sqrl, newly crowned Sith Lord. Sulu found Sqrl, and took his DNA. Without the Sith Lord knowing, Sulu made his way back to Kamino where they would clone Sqrl. Upon the cloning process, he was revived to his original form. The problem was he would also have the same force powers as the Sith Lord himself.

Alpha and Omega
Two years after Sqrl's cloning he was re-trained as a jedi. Now the boy was split in two: Light and Dark. A prophecy of the jedi and sith was that a jedi and a sith who were the same person would bring about the apocalypse. Now, the two Sqrls would be locked in an never-ending struggle to decide the galaxy's fate.....

Quote: “He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still.”

Detailed History:

PROLOGUE:

Kashyyyk, a world of luscious forest, and not-so-nice creatures. Aureus’s family moved to Kashyyyk to get away from mainstream society. Aureus’s father, Orin, disagreed often with the Jedi order, having a problem with their battle tactics in the past and present. He was a Jedi commander in the army for several years before he got fed up with the way things were going. He took his loved one, Mary, a Jedi Knight in the Academy, and left the planet of Coruscant. They headed for Kashyyyk, a peaceful and less inhabited planet. Aureus was born several years later, in a small hut his dad had built in the magnificent wroshyr trees. These trees reigned several kilometers above the grounds, making anything else on the planet seem dwarf-like.

Chapter 1 – The Hunt

Aureus was raised in the wroshyr trees, above the ancient Shadow Lands. His father, an ex-military commander for the Republic, taught him all the basics for fighting. Aureus learned to use a vibroblade, as well as a standard, military commissioned blaster. Aureus was always wanting to learn new things from his father and mother, always asking to be taught new combat moves or new stories of the ancient wars. His mother, Mary, was usually found tending the household or wandering around the small platforms in the trees that led to different Wookie villages and settlements. His father if not at home, was mostly out hunting in the shadow lands, for food for the family.

Aureus eventually reached the age of 10 and his father believed he was ready to hunt. The pair said their good-byes to Mary for the day and set out on their hunt. They took an elevator-like-thing down below the light, green canopy. When they reached the dark, grim, death smelling Shadow Lands below; they dismounted the elevator, grabbing their gear on the way. Aureus and his father placed their vibroswords in their respectable sheaths and put their blaster’s in their belts. They took off on their journey on the floor of the infamous Kashyyyk forest.

They searched for a Three-Horned bantha, native to Kashyyyk. Orin taught his son how to follow the tracks of bantha on the forest floor. They followed the tracks for a bantha herd for an hour or so, eventually catching up to the herd. Orin taught his son a good spot to shoot a bantha and allowed his son to take the shot. Aureus aimed and fired, hitting a Three-Horned bantha right behind the ear in the neck. The bantha slowly walked a few feet before falling to the ground from the fatal wound. The rest of the herd broke off into various directions. The father and son quickly walked to the bantha with Orin congratulating his son on the flawless shot. They took meat off the bantha, filling their bags completely and began to walk back.

They traveled for an hour throughout the deep, dark forest. The journey would take several more hours into the night, convincing Orin to set up camp. They gathered wood from nearby limbs that had fallen from the towering wroshyr trees. They made a dim fire in an opening under a large root of one of the trees for shelter. They took out a large piece of the bantha meat they had collected and cooked it for dinner. Aureus begged his father to tell him a story about the old Battle for Yavin and the Legendary Luke Skywalker. His father began to tell a tale about Luke Skywalker and his victory against Darth Vader. Aureus quickly fell asleep during the story due to the toll the Shadow Lands had taken on him.

Chapter 2 – The Death & the Beginning

Aureus woke up to his father stretching out his legs near the camp. They quickly gathered their gear for they had lingered in one place for far too long. They set out shortly after. Finally, they were near the “elevator” to return them to the canopy. They were unloading their bags onto the raft-like “elevator” when a strange humming sounded behind them. They both turned around to see 3 Mandalorians who were part of a clan who lived in the Shadow Clans de-cloaking. Orin quickly drew out his vibroblade to defend against the bandit Mandalorians. He told his son to stay on the wooden platform and crank the lever to begin it. Aureus refused and drew his vibroblade as well. Orin was proud of his son for standing up against 3 Mandalorians which he knew were highly dangerous, but angry at him for not listening.

The 3 Mandalorians pulled out their vibroblades and began the first attack. 2 of them went for Orin and the third attacked Aureus. The fight continued for several heated and blood rushing minutes. Orin with the training of an ex-Jedi commander defeated one of the Mandalorians by deflecting his sword into the air and initiating a final blow to the Mandalorian’s chest. Aureus was taking a beating though. He was no match for a trained Mandalorian. The Mandalorian continuously slashed at Aureus’s vibroblade, eventually disarming him and knocking him on his back to the floor. The Mandalorian raised his sword above his head, ready to swing down with full force and take the young Aureus’s life. The Mandalorian swung down as hard as he could. Orin saw what was about to happen and took action. Aureus put his left arm up in front of him to try and block the slash. Orin force pushed the Mandalorian knocking him against a large tree stump. But only after the blade had severed the boy’s hand at the mid-forearm. The other Mandalorian attacking Orin saw his when Orin had looked away and pushed his son’s attacker. The Mandalorian attacked Orin with sheer force knocking his blade back and slashing him across the chest, bringing him to his knees. Orin yelled for the injured and bleeding Aureus to get on the “elevator.” His son yelled that he wouldn’t leave him. Orin yelled back, commanding his son to return to his mother and protect her. Aureus gave in and ran onto the platform, pulling the crank in agony with his right hand.

The platform began to rise and Aureus looked over. Orin looked up at him with tears in his eyes and mumbled, “I love you.” The Mandalorian Orin had pushed angrily got on his feet and picked up his vibroblade. The two remaining Mandalorian argued in their native language. The one that had put Orin to his knees backed away, allowing the injured one to place himself right in front of Orin. He raised his blade high up into the air, like he had done with his attack on Aureus. As the injured Mandalorian had done this, Orin closed his, submitting himself to the will of the Force and sending his power into his son. The Mandalorian brought the blade upon Orin’s head in a swift blow, sending blood splatters across the Mandalorian’s armor and forest floor.

Chapter 3 – The Son of a Jedi

Aureus cried on his way up through the forest on the wooden platform. He tucked his severed arm tight between his thighs and abdomen as he sat there. The platform continued to rise as Aureus’s mind raced, partially unconscious from his blood loss through his hand. He had never seen his father use the force before, and wondered why his father never taught him it. He slipped out of consciousness, dreaming of the power and fame of being a Jedi.

He awoke in his bed 9 days later. He had shot up, wondering what had happened. Was he now one with the Force? No, his mother walked into his room, relieved he was awake, running over to him and giving him a tight hug. Out of reaction Aureus put his arms around her as well. He then saw it. His severed left hand had been replaced by a biotic arm. He released his grip startled. His mother reassured him and broke out into tears. He hugged his mother again, knowing the sadness and grief she must’ve been feeling. She sat at the end of his bunk and he told her the story. She used her facial expressions to explain her emotions throughout the tale. Smiling and making her deep blue eyes bulge to show her excitement and happiness when Aureus told her about shooting the bantha.

He reached the part about the ambush, explaining what he could vaguely remember. He described the fear he had felt as he watched the vibroblade come down on his arm. And the way his father had pushed the Mandalorian against a tree stump forcefully from several meters away. His mother put on a solid expression which Aureus was confused about. It was more of a look of confusion rather than sadness or anxiety. His mother stood up and left the room. She returned a few minutes later with a box smaller than a footlocker, but not puny; she also had a piece of smoked bantha meat from the hunt Aureus and his father had put in the bag on the platform. She gave him the piece of meat; Aureus quickly engulfed like an animal. His mother smiled, taking her spot at the end of his bunk once again. She looked at him and asked him if he knew anything about a light saber. Aureus explained that he only knew that they were elegant, yet civil weapons used by Jedi and Sith.

His mother began to explain to him what a light saber symbolized to a Jedi, the responsibilities it holds, and the power it carries. She handed him the box and told him to open it. As he turned the latch on the box, his mother told him that his father was a Jedi Master. He sped up the opening of the box with the new knowledge that had just been bestowed on him. Inside were two light sabers. When he asked his mother why there had been two; she replied with the answer that she had also been a Jedi Knight. Aureus looked in astonishment at the light sabers and his mother. She apologized to him for not telling him sooner and explained her reasons and her dislike for the Jedi council, as well as Aureus’s father’s. He asked why they had disliked the Council so much; and was answered by one particular reason. He mother said there had been many things, but the main was that the Jedi denied love in their creed and would be punished if they did love someone. She softly told the story of how she had fallen in love with Aureus’s father, and the destiny they faced if they admitted that love while in the Academy.

After she finished the story she blew out some of the candles to dim the lights, making it easier for Aureus to fall asleep. Before she left the room with the box of light sabers she mentioned one last thing to Aureus; that she would train him in the way of the Jedi to be able to defend himself from any enemy, and control his emotions. She left the room right after, allowing Aureus to fill his mind with his great imagination’s thoughts on becoming a Jedi and controlling the Force. He fell asleep shortly after, dreaming of how the training would be like.

Chapter 4 – The Training

Aureus woke up the next day excitedly, quickly getting dressed in light, but firm attire. After putting on his clothes, he grabbed his black gloves and ran outside as he put them on. “Mother,” he yelled as he came through the front door. His mother, Mary, was waiting outside with the same box from the night before. Without saying a word she put the box on the wood plank floor, and opened it; removing the two light sabers.

As she tossed the light saber in her left hand to Aureus she said, “This is your father’s. He was a Jedi Guardian.” Aureus caught the elegant golden saber with a jet black grip. “Turn it on,” his mother said smiling. “Just make sure you point it AWAY from you, hehe.” Aureus smiled with excitement as he pointed the saber’s opening away from him. He looked around the hilt for a button or switch to turn it on. After finally finding it he stared a few inches above the saber where the blade would appear. He flipped the saber on and a blue beam shot up in front of him, startling him. His mother laughed as she flipped her saber on by her side, sending a green beam out the opening.

Aureus was brought to an extremely high wooden platform where his Mother taught him the Jedi Code, making him repeat it for several hours for weeks. She taught him all but one key aspect of the Jedi way. She didn’t teach him to put his emotions aside and never give in to how he feels. Rather, she told him to do what he felt was right and listen to his heart.

For several weeks they went over all the history and teachings in the Jedi Order that Mary knew of. Aureus began to grow bored of the teachings of the old Jedi Masters and wanted to begin physical training. His mother began to see his uneasy state and quickly went through the rest of the teachings. A day after Aureus’s mother finished the teachings; Aureus was quizzed and proven to be ready for the Physical aspect. A day later his mother brought him to the same high wooden platform in the wroshyr that Aureus had been taught the mental part of Jedi training on. His mother told him to stand on the opposite side of her; as she tied her hair back. When Aureus got into position, he ignited his blue saber at the command of his mother. His mother ignited her deep lime green saber and asked, “Are you ready?”

Aureus replied, “For wh-“Before Aureus could finish, his mother dashed at him with extreme speed and knocked the saber out of his hand.

“You need to be much faster than that if you want to become a Jedi.” His mother said as she walked over and picked up Aureus’s saber. “I have not taught you anything; as such I did not expect you to block that. When we complete the training you’re about to begin, you will be able to block, evade, and parry my saber. So let us begin.” Aureus’s mother tossed his saber back to him as she reignited hers and walked towards him. Aureus turned his saber on again and stood where he was, waiting for something to happen. His mother came within 2 feet of him and put her blade up to his. And so it began.

Chapter 5 – The Arrival

For several years, Aureus trained under his mother, learning how to manipulate the Force using powers well known to members of the Light Side. He could push massive logs off the platform, heal his injuries and even absorb other people’s use of the Force against him. His mother made him proficient in the styles known as Makashi and Ataru; Giving him the ability to successfully counter her attacks and give him a chance to attack her, as well as keep an intense, aggressive attack, allowing for no mistakes from his enemy. At last he had surpassed his mother, being able to defeat her in every way she tested him, saber or force. He was ready to go to the Jedi academy and increase his skill even more.

He was gathering his clothes and equipment for his journey and stay at the Academy on Coruscant when his mother walked into his room with a brown robe. With tears in her eyes she said, “I want you to have this. This was your father’s old robe.” Handing it to Aureus she continued to say, “It’s not as high quality as it once was, but it stills does its job. It’s the robe of a Jedi Master. I’m sure they won’t let you wear it at the Academy, but I’m sure he would’ve wanted you to have it.” Aureus took the robe in his arms and tried to on. It was perfect size for the 16 year-old. “Look everyone! My son is a Jedi Master!” his mother yelled jokingly and smiling. She stood in front of the strong boy; starting to tear again she hugged the boy tight and whispered, “I am so proud of you. You’re going to be a great Jedi someday.” She let go of the boy and stood back up. “Now finish getting ready, the ship leaves in an hour.” She walked out of the room to prepare a snack for Aureus’s journey.

He finished his packing and entered the living room with his two bags and his light saber hanging from his belt. He mother put her arm over his shoulder after giving him a snack and walked him through the wooden villages in the trees to the shuttle pad. They arrived with 10 minutes until take off. Aureus said his final good-bye to his mother, and slowly walked up the metal ramp into the large ship. He took his seat with his luggage near a window and waved to his mother as the shuttle lifted off the pad and lifted in the star littered space. Aureus fell asleep thinking of what awaited him at the Jedi Academy and if he’d ever be a Jedi Master.

When Aureus awoke, other passengers were beginning to stand up and gather their luggage. Aureus quickly grabbed his bags and got ready to disembark the shuttle with the fear of being left behind. As he walked off the ramp he saw several other passengers with light sabers by their side. When he got off the shuttle all the other passengers started to break off into their own directions. Aureus followed signs that said ‘Transport’ till he eventually arrived at a hover car service. He entered one of the cars and asked the driver to take him to the Jedi Academy; they immediately took off into the Coruscant city air. Aureus looked in astonishment out the window as he hovered high above people and flew in between massive buildings. It was a huge change from the simple villages of Kashyyyk to the highly populated city area of Coruscant. They shortly arrived at a docking bay to the infamous and huge Jedi Temple. Aureus made his way out of the hover car, paying the driver with the few credits he had taken; and up the long stairs to the huge doors of the Temple.

Chapter 6 – The Padawan

He arrived at the huge closed doors which opened as he walked forward. He continued to walk forward, still carrying his bags and light saber. As he walked through the doors an older looking man with a robe similar to the one his mother had given him walked up to him. “Hello young one.” He said with a happy tone in his voice. “What brings you to the Jedi Temple on this gorgeous day?”

Aureus responded with a nervous feeling in his stomach, “I want to become a Jedi Master, sir.”

“Ah, well. This is the place to achieve that dream. Follow me young one, I will take you to a bunk where you can unload your bags. I see that you already have a light saber as well. Where’d you come upon such an elegant weapon?”

Aureus replied that it belonged to his father and his mother had given him it and trained him. The Jedi looked at Aureus with the same smile he had greeted him with, “Your parents were great Jedi, you should be proud. It’s a shame they left us. But what’s done is done; follow me to your bunk, please.” Aureus followed the man through the halls of the Temple, passing training rooms and a huge room of archives. Just before entering the barracks sector of the Temple the Jedi said, “We have several other promising students who joined us today as well. You will be in the same room as them.” As the Jedi finished his sentence he opened a door and walked in, Aureus following. In the room were several beds, a desk, dressers and a large window. “Hello students, we have another one joining us well today and he will be spending his stay in this bunk as well. Come here, Aureus.” The Jedi signaled for him to come in. Aureus walked in, placing his bags on the floor next to him.

“Hello, everyone.” Aureus said shyly. “I’m Aureus.” Aureus picked up his bags and walked over to the empty bed with a dresser next to it. The Jedi said his farewell to the young students and left the room right after. Aureus began to unpack his belongings into the dresser like the Jedi had told him to before he left. As he unpacked, the other new recruits continued their chatter about which master was best and which saber styles were more effective. He overheard one of the students mention Makashi and how complex it truly was. Aureus never understood quite yet how much of an edge he had over the other students, being proficient in already two styles. The young initiates went to sleep at the curfew, all anxious for the night to pass and see what the following day had in store for them.

Aureus awoke before the others. He sat up and scanned the room for any open eyes, feeling sort of sad that he was awake alone. He quietly rose from his bed, gently placing his bare feet on the soft, fine rug. He took a few steps after making his bed to his dresser; slowly sliding the wooden drawers out and removing a robe and under garments. He pushed the drawer back in and tip-toed into the locker room down the hall. He showered, changed, and prepared for the day. As he left the locker room he bumped into the Jedi who brought him into the Academy. “Hello there, Aureus. Isn’t it a little early for you to be wandering the halls?”

“Ah- well… I woke up so I thought I’d just get ready for the day.”

“An ambitious one I see. Well, let’s take a walk and talk for a bit.” The two began to walk down the long large halls of the Academy. “I haven’t introduced myself, have I…? I always forget to introduce myself.” The Jedi smiled, yet had a hint of frustration on his face. “I’m Master Roland. I’m more of a ‘Guard’ to this Academy than a teacher. I could never find the patience to teach young initiates; they never pay attention and they always think they should be babied… Anyway, why do you want to be a Jedi Master?”

Aureus stopped in his place and put his head down thinking. “My mother told me all about how my father was a great Jedi who fought for what he believed in and wouldn’t give in to anything. My father gave his life for me, and I want to pay him back by following in his path. I want to protect the defenseless and fight for what’s right.”

“Seems like a good enough reason for me.” The two walked and chatted for over an hour.

As they approached the bunk Roland began to end the conversation, “This is where we shall part for now. Join your fellow initiates and we’ll see if you have what it takes to be a Jedi. Farewell, Aureus. I wish you luck on your days to come.” The Jedi Master bowed and walked away. Aureus walked in to find the other initiates rising from their beds and gathering their clothes. The initiates ignored the entrance of Aureus and continued what they were doing. They left in a pack to the locker room, leaving Aureus alone in the room. He sighed and walked out of the room and sat outside the locker room, waiting to see where he had to go. He was a bit nervous about what awaited him. He thought of the tests he might have to take; scared to fail, excited to pass. The group came out of the locker room and stood near Aureus talking. Several minutes passed when finally a grey haired man approached the initiates slowly. The chatter began to die down until the hall was in dead silence. The man stopped before the group, wearing the typical brown robes of a Jedi.

“Hello students, I am Master Lethorian. It is a great pleasure to meet you all. I hope you have all enjoyed your stay so far… because this is where the fun ends. But don’t worry young ones; we’ll start off easy; if you’d all please follow me to the Meditation Room.”

The group followed behind the older man who seemed to like to take his time. He slowly strolled through the halls and into a large, dim room with cushioned seats all around. It had a large window, with an adjustable tint, providing shade from the bright sun. The man walked next to the seat which seemed to have the rest focused around. As he sat he motioned with his hand for the group to sit down around him, saying, “Take a seat, students.” The students sat around the Master and sat quietly. Aureus took a seat in the back behind the rest of the initiates. “As most of you probably know, we Jedi live by a code. This code has been within the Jedi for thousands of years. I will teach this code to you, but it is your responsibility to follow it and respect what the Jedi live for. Now repeat after me…” The old Jedi Master began to say each segment of the Jedi code and explain its meaning. Aureus already knew all of the code and its meaning, so he sat watching the initiates repeat the lines and listening to the old man talk.

Several minutes passed until the man noticed Aureus wasn’t repeating the lines with the group. The man rose and said, “Quiet students. You there, in the back.” Aureus looked surprised at the Master.

“M- me, sir?” He replied nervously.

The Master now looking at Aureus with a straight face replied, “Yes you. Why aren’t you repeating the Jedi code like the rest of your fellow students?”

Aureus was now being glared at by the rest of the surrounding students. Feeling alone and alienated he slowly said, “I… already know the code and everything about it… So I just thought I’d wait for you all to finish.”

“Then why don’t you enlighten us on what it all means then?” Lethorian started to get a frustrated and annoyed look as he waited impatiently for Aureus’s answer.

“Ah- uhm…” Aureus sat there nervous and confused. “Well-“A man came through the door the group had also entered from, also wearing the traditional Jedi Master robes but with his hood up and interrupted Aureus.

“Enough.” The man removed his hood.

“Hmph.” Lethorian said at the man’s revealing. “Master Roland, I was simply making this initiate back up his excuses.”

“Aureus, come with me. Lethorian, I’ll leave you to your lessons.” Roland bowed to the other Master and turned his back and walked slowly away, allowing for Aureus to stand and catch up. Aureus caught up to the Master and walked along the side of him. “I apologize for Lethorian; he’s a bit… strict, with his teachings. I’m surprised you know so much at your age. But I suppose I shouldn’t expect any less from the son of Orin and Mary. I want to talk to you in private for a bit, if you don’t mind.”

Aureus looked up at Roland as they walked, “Sure. What do you want to talk about?”

Roland was quiet for several seconds before answering, “Well, as I told you, I’m not really cut out for dealing with initiates. But, you’re a different case. I’m sure you’re already familiar with the basics of Jedi training if you know the code and everything about it.”

“I believe so, Master. My mother taught me.”

“Excellent!” The Jedi responded. “Are you proficient in any forms of the saber?”

“Well… my mother said she trained me in the forms of Makashi and Ataru. I don’t know how good I am with them but I can beat her.”

“Really?” Roland said in surprise. “Those are pretty complex forms. You should be very proud of yourself to know such things at such a young age. Anyway… I was thinking of taking you in as my own, personal Padawan. If you don’t want to I’d comple-“Before Roland could finish Aureus yelled out in excitement, “That’d be great!”

The two discussed the death of Aureus’s father and what his mother taught him. For several hours they sat in a small meditation room with several round, cushioned seats. The bright cloudy sky began to turn into an abstract painting of different reds, oranges, and yellows. As the day went on, Aureus grew more and more interested on the training Master Roland described to him. As the surrounding city became the primary source of light for the night sky, Roland began to end the conversation yet again. “It’s almost time for you to join the other initiates for dinner. Do you know where the dining hall is?”

“I think so, Master. I’m sure I could find my way.”

Roland smiled at the answer. “I’m sure you could. I’ll leave you to it then. Meet me here tomorrow at Dawn. We’ll need the Council’s permission for you to become my Padawan. Farewell, Aureus.”

“Bye, Master.” Roland exited the room. Aureus remained sitting for several minutes, excited and anxious to begin even more intense training. He stood up and began walking to where he thought the dining hall was. As he approached he could hear the chatter of all the initiates, Padawans, and the rest of the students, and teachers that dine with the students, at the Academy. He entered the large hall with long, wooden tables, nearly completely filled with Jedi and Force sensitives. Aureus walked over to a counter and grabbed a metal tray. After retrieving his food, he took a seat at the end of one of the tables. He sat and finished his meal alone; returning to his bunk afterwards. He had a few hours before he had to go to sleep, so he decided to head to the archives. He read random stories for several hours. Aureus always grew tired when he read. Eventually he decided to head to bed.

Aureus awoke the next morning anxious and excited. He did his morning routine and began to walk to the meditation room Roland told him to return to at Dawn. Aureus arrived at the dim room to find no one. Aureus thought he was early and sat down on one of the cushioned seats. After waiting for several minutes the sound of running feet approached the room. A few seconds later a young man came in and said that Roland was already at the Council room and needed Aureus to follow the man to the room. The two began to walk quickly through the halls to the Councilors room.

“Oh I forgot to introduce myself! I’m Soran” the man said. “I’m a Padawan here at the Academy, but it seems I’m doing more errands than training.”

“I’m Aureus.” Aureus smiled.”Who’s your Master?”

Soran looked at Aureus and replied, “My Master? I’m training under the Battle Master himself here at the Academy.”

“That Battle Master?! Wow…” Aureus said surprised. The two continued to the Council room and finally reached its doors.

“Wait here.” Soran said walking to the doors and entering. Aureus sat outside for a minute or so until Soran came back out. “They’re ready, please follow me.” Soran and Aureus entered the room and stood in the center. Soran bowed and walked out leaving Soran in the middle of the Council room alone.

“Hello there, Aureus.” Roland said from his chair in the room. “Welcome to the Council room.”

“Hello, Master.” Aureus replied nervous in front of the several top Jedi in the Academy. The Council members discussed the pairing of Roland and Aureus for several minutes. Eventually Roland gave his main reason.

“Councilors, his Father was a good friend of mine. I feel like it’s my responsibility to protect his son from the dangers that come with being a Jedi.” The room stayed silent.

“Hm… very well. You shall take Aureus as your Padawan. Don’t disappoint my judgment Roland.” The Grand Master said.

“Thank you Grand Master, I will not disappoint you.” Roland said. “Let’s go Aureus, we have work to do.” The two bowed and walked out.

Chapter 7 – The Growth

The two arrived in a training chamber after eating their breakfast. The room was made of metal panels, with pillars and floating floors through the area. “This is where we’ll be training. Once I believe you are ready, we will move on to more advanced forms of training, such as missions the Academy has been requested to complete.” Roland removed his robe, “Let us begin.”

The two trained hard for two years. Blood fell, sweat dripped and pain grew as Aureus struggled to keep up with his Master. Roland’s proficiency in the form of Soresu made Aureus frustrated as his overbearing aggressiveness was blocked and countered countless times. The training in the pillar room created a sixth sense within Aureus; he was able to feel where he would land and what was under him. Over time he became exceedingly fast in the air and was able to blend his attacks into one another using his evasion as a cloak. By the time the year began to end, Soresu was taught to him by watching it. When Roland attacked he was able to know how to block by doing the same exact attack to his Master and seeing how he moved. After their saber training, Roland would teach Aureus how to incorporate the Force into more advanced techniques. Such as using the widely known, “Force Speed” to increase attack speed and boost evasive techniques.

Aureus, now 18 years old, proved himself to be ready for field work. During these two years he also befriended the Padawan, Soran, who happened to be the same age as Aureus. They shared tips on saber combat and force powers, as well as stories of what they wish to become in the future.

At this time, most of the Padawans Aureus had seen around the Academy were also beginning to go on missions, placed in groups with a skilled leader. Roland and Aureus would be going alone on their separate missions. The two made their way to the dining hall after a difficult day of training. They got their food and sat separately from the rest of the students and teachers. “You know, this is what the Council was worried about.” Roland said as he began eating.

“What do you mean, Master?” Aureus replied in curiosity.

“You’re too used to working with alone. So when the time comes where you need to work with a diverse group of Jedi with different abilities, you’ll be nervous and confused.”

“Don’t worry, Master. You have trained me well, and we still have a long ways to go before I’m a true Jedi. By that time I think I’ll be ready to work with anyone who will stand by my side.”

Roland smiled, “I’m not worried. I have never doubted you, and you are proving to be quite the Jedi. We go on our first mission together in two days. Tomorrow we have to meet at the briefing room for the details. It should be a walk in the park.” The two finished their meal and made their way out of the Dining Hall to their chambers. “See you tomorrow, Aureus. Get a good night’s rest.” Roland said as they separated. Aureus went straight to his bunk, got into his night gear, brushed his teeth, and went to bed.
