A story I wrote for English coursework (got me an A)
We are led to believe that metamorphosis is impossible. The ability to change what you are at will should be impossible.
Well it isn’t.
I accidentally discovered how to do it and pretty much anything I desired. One problem; I couldn't find a way to revert back. I'm stuck in a form that I thought was a blessing, but is more like a curse.
My first body was far from perfect. Weak arms, legs that got tired after one mile, a face only a family could love... the strongest point was the mind, which I'm grateful hasn't changed. The longing for change began with the hormones and the resultant want for most girls my age I set eyes on. I bought some dumbbells, but gave them up quickly. A couple of friends suggested push-ups, but I managed to get a record of five, so that went out the window as well.
But enough about that. The changes began with a dream. It was one of the weirdest dreams I could have, because I was consciously thinking in it, and these thoughts changed the dream. The dream itself was really boring. I was there, mercifully clothed in non-flattering clothes, but everything else was nothing. Pure black.
"This sucks." I thought to myself, and was surprised to see my dream-self nod in agreement.
"You can hear me?" I asked it.
"Well duh! I'm in your head, of course I can hear you!" he yelled back. "Now hurry up and think something."
"Like what?" I couldn't help but ask. The dream-self sighed, and pointed at me.
"What have you always wanted? It's your dream, so there are no rules."
"None?"
Not a single one. You could punch a dolphin for all I care." I chuckled; it had a sense of humour. Still, something had to happen, so I thought of juggling.
"That the best you can do?" it asked, and sighed again. "Fine." From nowhere, three juggling balls appeared, and he juggled. What else do you do with juggling balls? Anyway, I had a habit of letting my mind wander, and I thought of a particular girl.
"Ah, now we're getting somewhere!" my dream-self yelled, and from nowhere she appeared and to nowhere the balls went. She looked around, panicked. From here, my dream-self said what I thought. It seemed to behave in front of people.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I... you... where am I?" she stuttered, but got it out in the end.
"You're in my dream."
"I thought you were in mine."
"Have you ever considered it's ours?" She looked away, evidently lost in thought, and turned back.
"It's not a dream for me." she held up her right arm. On its otherwise-perfect skin was one small area of red, as if she'd pinched it. "That hurt." I shrugged, and pinched it. Nothing. No pain, no smarting, not a single thing. Then...
"Ow!" I cried in surprise. Thinking of the pain had made it happen. Okay; I was still convinced it was a dream, but it seemed to be a very realistic dream. She looked smug, and I sighed. Then, remembering what my dream-self had said before she'd arrived, I thought of a place I'd once seen on TV. Without warning, the nothingness surrounding us disappeared, to be replaced by a alien-ish landscape. It wasn't alien, though; it was under the water. She instinctively grabbed her mouth, and slowly turned blue. When she finally had to breathe, she let out a titanic gasp. Bubbles went sailing their slow way to the surface, but she didn't even cough. She gasped again, this time out of surprise.
"How...?" she began, but I shrugged an answer. Experimentally, she made swimming motions, and was swimming. She laughed, more bubbles shimmering.
"This..." I thought to myself. "This is real."
It was that which sealed my fate.
I'd like your opinion on what you think whether it be opinion or a hidden meaning or event. Like how is this in a dream?

Because I said so... Nah in his "state" at the moment anything is possible. The story in essence doesn't "end" so it should be assumed thst he also trys metamorphasis. However; I wil add an opinions of a real life souce
" I think the guy actually dead, and that he is own indervidual haven/heaven. It was made to look like a dream as if he knew he died it would probabaly destroy him mentally"
